I agree the runng game on ESPN is fun because on the hardest settings you can get over 150 yards a game playing 5 min qtrs.
You can get a lot against the computer. But not against another person. I can rack up that many yards in Madden 2004 on All-Madden, but its a different story when playing against a real person.
ESPN's running game isn't fun because of the yards you get, but it rewards you for following your blocks, and your blockers make intelligent blocks. I can't remeber how many times my blockers in Madden run right past the 1st attacker to blocksomeone in the secondary.
We'll see who's better when we play

Thats what they are suppose to do. The full back thinks or acts like you have that guy beaten. A simple juke takes care of the LB, but the safety need to be blocked so you hit the side line. The safety should be blocked because he has a better angle on you

I am considering renting the games, but I have two problems.
1) I live in the sticks! The county I live in doesn't even have a stoplight. I work in Charlottesville, though, so I could do Blockbuster in town, but I am notorious for returning things late to Blockbuster.
2) I have 1-year-old twins! They don't let me play much xbox. In fact, they've known how to open the DVD tray on that thing since they could pull up. I have to keep it turned around and lock the controllers in a cabinet.
I'm considering doing the trial of Gamefly, but I'm wondering if they will even have Madden 05 available anytime soon.
The only recent football game I've played was the Microsoft one (NFL Fever 2002) that came with my Xbox! That is definitely one of those "pick it up and dominate it" type of games.

What should happen in real-life and in the game are 2 different things. This year in Madden it seems like they dumbed down the special moves A LOT. Juking isn't as effective as it used to be, especially with the defensive banner madden is waving this year.
Dont worry, I broke my old controller playing 04, I have a new one for 05. Meet me online tonight, Im hungry for another win. My record is 2-0 so far, lets play!

I will have to play you on the weekends. I just cant stimulate myself to stay up on a work nite and play video games.

yeah, i just got my copy of madden lastnight...
i'm pretty happy with it but i don't like the fact that it's so hard to run the ball...i hate just passing all the time but it's not too bad with the skinz receiving squad..
overall, i'd give it the thumbs up but as with all games certian areas could be tweaked...but i guess you can pleaze everyone.

I just got mine thursday , I got the classic addtion. I put QC on the trading block and the punk ran to the local newspapers... SWEET...I LOVE HOW I HAVE DAYUM NEAR TOTAL CONTROL OF THE DEFENSE.

The Defense is sweet. I love the running game. You will have to use the juke and stiff arm buttons in this years edition.
Very nice EA. If Madden had ESPNs graphics it would be even tighter.

I had Pinkston on the block all through Preseason and up to week 6. It made him work harder to beat out Freddie Mitchell. He did, but I named Freddie the starter anyway.
