BACK ON TOPIC: you make some valid points, and, yes, the injury was unavoidable. I think the problem here is basic mathematics.

Joe asked for 100%, and Sean gave 110% in passing camp. That extra 10% contributed to his injury, was uncalled for by Joe, and goes to show that our "overacheiver" was in the right place at the wrong time. :D

Why don't we over analize this to death people! He got hurt playing football. DUHHHH. Like this is first or last time it will happen.

Let's focus and be thankful it is minor. As for Wilson, we just have to hope for the best.

There is no such thing as 110%. If there is, then that should be what Gibbs demands...

So now it's Joe's fault. Interesting.

I guess Satan asked Joe to ask for 110% too.

Redeemedskin, I think you are asking too much. Players will always go all out. If one happens to get injured in practice, that is just a freak accident. I don't think he was showboating or anything. He was just trying to make a play. I'm sure it all happened in a split second, and could have happened to anybody, Fred Smoot included.

Taylor isn't used to that extra weight in his wallet and he strained his knee.

Come on, he is a rookie that is supposed to come in and make an impact. He has to go all out.

Just a coupla things...

I was at the practice that Bowo hit Trung... saw every last frame by frame of it... people made WAY TOO much of it then... and people still are... it wasn't reckless at all... they're playing football. These guys are not only teammates, they were former roommates. There was absolutely no MALICE on Bowen's part whatsoever. It was just unfortunately a better lick than he put on anybody in a regular season game.

But it was at full speed in a full pads practice and Trung was running with the ball down the sideline... if you ain't ready to get cranked at any time on a football field... then you have no busineess being on the football field. Trung got smoked, sure... but he didn't get up mad or cranky... he just got up.

To put this injury on Taylor or the coaches or anyone for that matter is just plain irresponsible... dare I say... pasquarellian.

Taylor tweaked his knee at a football practice.... it's only newsworthy because of the timing... camp about to open... just having signed his contract.... my goodness.... this thread personifies the word f-i-c-k-l-e.

Anyone who thinks that you can play football at the NFL level and not be giving it your all, is watching from the bleachers for a reason. Almost every one of these guys has had to eat, sleep and breathe football most of their lives to come this far. You don't just turn it down a few notches for the sake of 'safeness', that's not what brought them to THIS LEVEL. You prepare yourself to go into battle... there's no half-ass efforts.

IMO, Trung was guilty of a half ass effort when Bowo smoked him last year... but the media spun it nicely the other way.

Bowen was playing football... Trung was picking daisies.

Looks like Taylor was playing football too.

Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

What about the terp?

Another young defensive back, Dennard Wilson, an undrafted rookie from the University of Maryland who is from Upper Marlboro, also was hurt in that practice and underwent season-ending surgery, Cerrato said. Wilson is believed to have suffered multiple fractures in the area around his left ankle. Gibbs said the injury occurred when Wilson, who had impressed coaches to this point, landed awkwardly during a drill (unlike training camp, passing camp is closed to the public and media

I agree with SSIII. In fact, it's when players are walking on eggshells that they tend to get hurt. Funny how it works that way, but it's true.

I say, let Lavar and co. make big plays, and give Portis the ball 35 times a game. . .it'll be good for them!

Asking for a #1 to be healthy is too much to ask for? :hmm:

I know what you are saying. Freak accident. Understood. Good thing his MRI came back negative. Too bad for Wilson, though.
