Ive heard Reid say on numerous occasions mcnabb needs to stay in the pocket and be a better pocket passer. Mcnabb's first instinct is to scramble around, but reid preaches that he needs to stay in the pocket, or take off and run, not scramble around in the backfield.

Over the past two seasons McNabb has been mauled because he's staying in the pocket when he shouldn't. The O line has been terrible, but he's refused to run. There may be some hidden reason here why Reid drafted roughly 28 linemen this year.

optimistic, yet realistic

Realistically, any NFC East team looks good enough to take the division, so saying that the best yet realistic case is that the Redskins will win the East is where I'll place my vote.

Don't get me wrong but who and what team has mauled McNabb, we looked like a bunch of jack you not whats and so did most teams, McNabb has run wild in the last two or three seasons, I don't know to many teams that could honestly say the contained him. If I am wrong please tell me the teams that contained McNabb, didn't he lead the Feagles in Rushing yards 2 years ago. Am I missing your point.

I think we can both agree that the way a team plays on the field is usually a direct result of coaching. For example, Bill parcells took a mediocore cowboy team to the playoffs when they were 5-11 the previous season. On the other hand I think regardless of the amount of talent we gave spurrier we werent going to win. With that being said Mcnabb staying in the pocket and getting sacked constantly is a direct result of the fact the Reid wants Mcnabb to focus on staying in the pocket, and becoming a better pocket passer. because That is probaly his biggest weakness as a QB. But, back to my original point, you were agreeing with what I was saying about the fact Garcia rolls out alot more then Mcnabb. I was just responding to Gambits post.

I believe the title is realistic for us this year.
But I think I thought the same thing last year and the previous. Maybe thats my own stupidity but I think I can safely say that we have all been let down the past few seasons.

This year seems legit and makes me wonder how I thought we could have made it last year. But I'm going to play it safe and just predict a possible wildcard birth and us being a bit over .500 in the division.

In 2003 McNabb was sacked 43 times. In 2002 he was sacked 28 times in 9 games. He played in ten games, but in the game against Arizona where he broke his ankle he wasn't sacked at all. Go figure.

UH-OH...Now I'm scared...I've found myself agreeing with Gambit. I would not be a true fan if I did not say nfc title...lol. Realistically I would say they have a shot at the wild card...based on coaching and paper. I think the Eagles are done in. Teams have figured out what they are doing. Dallas will lead the Division and the Giants....oh well. I think the Skins can atleast win one game of each NFC east team based on Gibbs ability to change things up.

I don't get this. How have teams figured out what the Eagles are doing? They just acquired Owens! How could anyone know how their offense will be to defend with that major variable introduced? Unless people think Owens will NOT have an impact, which is hard for ME to understand, but still an opinion.

I think you may have meant teams have caught on to what Dallas is doing, right? Because I totally agree with that statement.
