I, along with others, consider "potential" to be a vulgarity. I couldn't care less about the "potential" of a player who consistantly has not gotten it done on the field. Hopefully, nobody makes the roster this year based on some supposed "potential" over a guy who might be undersized but is all over the field making plays.
Additionally, I want to throw my thoughts in on LaVar and his offseason partying. I, myself, am inclined to mind my own business. I am a very serious fan of the Redskins. I also understand that, when a man signs on to either play for or coach this team, the media and fans follow him 24-7-365. Guess what ? LaVar is a young man ! A single young man ! He's out having fun ! Why not ? He's gainfully employed, takes care of his business and his family and nobody gets accidently blasted at close range with a shotgun!
We do not own these players and coaches. They do not sign over their right to a life off the field when they sign on with the Redskins. If they want to continue to make money and endeavor in NASCAR, party 'til dawn, start up small businesses...let 'em !
Believe me, a guy like Arrington...he needs these nights out to work off the adrenaline.
I don't claim to know LA, as some do around here, but I was once his age. Let him be a twenty-something year old man with time and money to burn. He isn't hurting or embarrassing anybody, and youth doesn't last forever.
And that, as Gambit (via "Stone Cold" Steve Austin) says, is all I got to say about that.
"Sit back and watch the Redskins.
SOMETHING MAGICAL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!"

That's right, Gambit!!!! He's even on a low-carb diet, son!!!!!!!
Nunyo Demasio from WP wrote:Arrington has been working out regularly at the Redskins' training facility in Ashburn...The 6-foot-3, 253-pound linebacker, despite a sinewy physique, is on a low-carbohydrate diet that emphasizes grilled chicken or fish and greens. He is even avoiding ketchup or sauces with fat or sugar.

He's dead serious! :x

The partying is okay as long as his carb count is low.

Yeah i guess if you are on a low carb diet its still cool to hang out late night and drink Crysta'l.LOL

In 5 years all this low carb, atkins diet crap will be blamed for something.

Something other than the increased sale of smaller pants nationwide? I've lost 6 inches off my waist this year by going low carb.

No GF something along the lines that like in 5 or 6 years they will come out with some scientific study that says it caused a defeincincy in iron, calcium, vitamin b or c or a or some B.S.

I am not knocking no one for trying it , but good ole healthy exercise has worked for me.

How many Babe Ruths or John Riggins have been in major league sports over time (ie - big time pro athletes that like to throw down)? I don't care if any man party's, just prove it to me on the field. Lavar's got some learning to do on the field but people can learn how to balance their social lives too. I think contract disputes and conflicts with the NFLPA are more of a distraction for him and our team than him going out to knock a few back.

...and, if he's with his teammates, I'll consider that team building like the old Hogs used to do when knocking a few back after practice at training camp.

There's plenty of iron in beef, which should be a staple of any Atkins diet. Calcium is added to everything, including bread. Skeletal remains from the recently deceased will take longer to decompose than those of someone who died two hundred years ago because of all the extra calcium.

I guess your not really reading or understanding what I am saying General failure, but I understand you are a Eagles fan and i know how you guys can be.

What i was saying is that the FDA and other organizations dont know everything.

One day they say milk is good for you the next they say its bad.

One day coffee is good the next day its bad

Same with wine, chocolate and, same with tons of other stuff.

ALL I AM SAYING IS THAT ITS THE LATEST CRAZE NOW, BUT IN 5 OR SO YEARS SOME SCIENTIST WILL FIND FAULT WITH IT.

Then you will hear this while watching TV around 8:30. " TONIGHT ON THE 11 OCLOCK NEWS, WAS THE LOW CARB DIET or ATKINS DIET A LIFE SAVER OR A RISK TAKER, STAY TUNED STORY AT 11."

Yes ladies and gentlemen.... LaVar is the "ONE MAD LINEBACKER"!! Sorry. Thought I could imply. But that's ok. Most of you got the right impression anyway. Was away from this topic for awhile. Heck, the sight in general, with only a few times to get in and see what was going on. Been opening a new Pizza Parlor!!!! That makes three now!!! Life has been hectic lately. Sorry guys.
I figure... If life is all about the choices you make... Then I choose Redskin football, beer and hot wings!!

I know what you meant, I just like giving you a hard time. :)

The Atkins diet has been in development for ... I want to say twenty years, but reading the book it only says it's an update of a book he wrote tean years ago. Let's guesstimate and say fifteen. There is a warning on page one saying it should be avoided if you're pregnant, have severe kidney problems, and should consult your doctor if you're taking insulin.
