Redskins Rule wrote:You know what I think.......they played something like eight teams last year that didn't win more then 5 games. They had some good coaching to beat up on those guys. I think this year if they do just as good or make it in the top five then they will start to scare me. I just don't get scared when I see them beating up on crappy teams EIGHT TIMES!!!!! When they played good teams they got their butts kicked. With one exception to Caroline the first time they met.

We basically played the same teams you guys played. So i ask you like Taver asked Roy Jones. WHAT IS YOUR EXCUSE FOR BEING 5-11.

Hey Gambit, "Basically" is the keyword in that sentence. We didn't play Arizona, who we always beat up on. Spurrier's first win in the NFL came against them. We didn't play Detroit, who had a horrible year last year.

If you want an excuse for going 5-11....I can't give one. Now, you can ask me why I think we ended up at 5-11. But how can I possibly make an excuse for it???? 5-11 is horrible, they weren't playing like the Redskins I grew up watching. I'm just glad that Coach Gibbs and Coach Buges are back. Now, they'll start playing like Redskins. You can bet on it.

Back to the eight teams or so that you played who just sucked last year. Dude, no offense but you guys had a real easy schedule last year. Whenever I saw you play a good team you lost. You were shut out twice and blown out at least once by the 'good' teams. There was one exception to the Panthers in the regular season. That was my argument to me not being scared of your number one ranked defense. If they can make the top five this year. I WILL be scared of them.

Gambit, the point was someone said the Cowboys number one defense ranking was aided by their schedule. The Redskins sucking has nothing to do with that. Honestly man, what are you doing...

Just tired of hearing you guys lame excuse that we had an easier schedule then you guys did. When all it was ,was a difference of 2 teams.

So we played Detroit and Arizona

You guys played Chicago(7-9) WOW a real power house team.

You guys played Seattle who were 10-6......So basically you can honestly say we had the same schedule except for 2 games and out of that you guys had ONLY 1 HARDER GAME AND THAT WAS SEATTLE. SO STOP CRYING AND SAYING WE HAD AN EASY SCHEDULE :-({|=

Redskins Rule wrote:I know Carolina Panther's Steve Smith had one. That was man to man coverage. I remember Newman pushing him out of bounds trying to get the call, but the refs ruled it a catch and a touchdown.

Smith's touchdown was in a playoff game, which cannot be used for statistical comparisons.

According to AdamJT13 (for those familiar with him), the Cowboys' opponents averaged just 5 yards less than the league average for yards per game against oppoents other than the Cowboys. The defense led by over 16 ypg.

Therefore, claiming that the Cowboys' schedule played a role in the #1 ranking is disengenious at best.

He also noted that the defense was 2nd in the league in TOP per drive, countering the argument that the Cowboys' ball control style offense played a role. The Cowboys' defense kept the offense on the field and not vice versa.

That sounds about right. The Cowboys offense last year didn't strike me as a ball control offense. Seems like that would be tough to do when your starting runningback is that bad.

I wasn't really disputing the Cowboys number one defense, I was just pointing out that Gambit's post wasn't really relevant to anything...

Hey Gambit. I never have given an excuse for the 5-11 season and I won't either. 5-11 season just has no excuse. Its freakin disgusting!!!! I just don't know how you guys did it three times in a row!!!

Bottom line is that you guys had a easy schedule...I don't care if it is easier then ours or harder then ours. You had an easy schedule. Once again, the reason why I'm not scared of your defense is because you played eight teams that didn't win more then five games. THAT IS AN EASY SCHEDULE!!!! I don't understand what is so hard to see about that. If your defense can make it to the top 5 this year. You'll here me say it......"I'm scared of your defense".
