Something that makes me nervous

Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

No, Duce Staley plays for the Steelers. He was with the Eagles until this offseason when his contract was up.

Kinda like Deion.
Plus, he's clearly seen better days. He gets Pro Bowl mentions and selections based on reputation alone. Hasn't lived up to his own standards lately.
Kinda like Bruuuuce.

I agree, TC. In fact, if Spurrier was still around you'd better believe that the Clinton trade never would have happened, and that the news would be filled with headlines like "Redskins pursuing George"

Just my speculation, but how far off can it really be? Can anyone else imagine a world where we were going after him? I certainly can.

What are you talking about? Spurrier did not have any say so :)

It is hindsight but I am starting believe SOS had nothing to do with SD leaving us.

George will probably go to Oakland, where all the washed up, old players go. The only way he would stay in Tenessee is if he took a huge pay cut.

For Gildon and George, their destinations are unclear.

Some league insiders can envision Gildon heading to a team like the Raiders, who are installing the 3-4 defense. As for George, the Cowboys would be a no-brainer match -- which likely means it won't happen.

Other teams who could be interested in the 1995 Heisman winner include (rank speculation alert) the Eagles, the Bears, the Raiders (who are interested generally in anyone over 30), the Buccaneers (who are interested generally in anyone they've ever heard of), and the Broncos. As we see it, George's best chance to win a starting job in 2004 is in Big D, where rookie Julius Jones is No. 1 on the depth chart.

Well, if you listen to Mr. Davis...
He was sure that management would find some way to keep him here in DC, particularly the owner. However, it was clear that Snyder had made a significant committment to Spurrier, who didn't believe that he needed an NFC East style RB to make his own holes. Coach Spurrier was so hung up on scoring fast and scoring often through the air that the RB position was merely an afterthought. He was sure he could run when he had to, without mortgaging the financial future of the team.
His philosophy was critically flawed though, and Mr. Davis went to Carolina ( with less money than we could've offered him).
