Yea, Lavar and all of them aren't being listened to either. All we heard last year "we have a great coach, he gives us freedom"....lol.
Pads might slow you down.... but there not making you run faster.
Wut Im saying is. These are random #'s just to explain my point.
Without padsBowen 4.47
Iffy 4.9
With PadsBowen 5.5
Iffy 5.0
The pads aren't making Iffy faster, they just slow him down less than Bowen.
What are you guys talking about!?! lol, when is everyone going to realise that Bowen is faster!?! This is completely hypothetical and I can assure you that this is NOT the case. Gosh, can't anyone just accept that Iffy is slower than Bowen?

I don't care who starts. We have one of the best defensive coaches in the league and he's going to recognize who should start. I'm just ready to see one heck of a battle for that position.

I still like one fact:
No matter who wins we will have a good backup besides Terrell/Franz/Lott at safety when Williams puts three safeties on the field.

I totally agree, this with pads without pads is one of the funniest things I've ever seen... not to mention 100% speculation.
I think it's safe to say that despite whatever someone's opinion MIGHT be... that's why they run 40 times at the combine and pro dates... and BOWEN was faster... case closed IMO.

Dude, Chill out! These are your Redskins loving brothers and sisters.
Besides, Redskins.com and NFL.com (or was it ESPN) had both bowen and ohalete listed as Free Safeties. That is one had Ohalete as the FS the other had Bowen as the FS. I get the two positions mixed up all the time, but I'm pretty confident that Bowen was the FS.

I'm really excited to see how Bowen will do at Strong Safety.....he should be great....he made alot of great plays even last season...including the fumble he caused on S. Davis at the end of the game...we just got ripped off on that one.
The only reason that Iffy woouldn't have played FS last season over Bowen is because when they offered him the postion...he refused to play the spot. I only hope he will be a team player....I'm very glad we signed him, but I think the reason for only a one year signing is to see how much he is truly willing do as a TEAM player....one thing for sure....we have plenty of depth at all DB positions now....and enough safeties to have several safeties on the field during passing downs.....which is what Williams loves to do sometimes.

I have serious doubts that Iffy will even make the team. I'm not his biggest fan - but Iffy played very poorly last year. He'll need to make a great effort, become a better tackler and take better angles. He drops his head too often and misreads like a madman. Bowen didn't play up to his level either. Talent for talent - Bowen is hands-down a more talented player. However - it's not all about talent. I'll take Bowen on Sundays!

All I was trying to convey is that from my experiences I've seen that everyone cannot run effectively with pads on. The 40 times are taken without pads so your body isn't restricted in anyway. But with pads on there is going to be a slight difference in time. The pads are going to weigh you down ofcourse, thats a given. But some people just can't perform in pads like they do without them. It was just my opinion that Iffy seems faster and someone said Bowen had the faster 40 time. But imo it only matters with pads on. Iffy may be slower without the pads, but the pads may slow Bowen down to the point where he's slower than iffy. Mind you, we're talkin about seconds here. Regardless I think they're both good players.
For example. My cousin and I grew up together and both played at the same highschool. He ended up not playing because he couldn't play with a helmet on. Anyone who played football before knows that a helmet obstructs ur view to an extent and it totally ****ed his up. I was just trying to s

It took me awhile to get use to a helmet at first.
My dad use to make me cut the grass and do other BS chores in it and shazam! I was fixed. Then next it was the freakin cup

To tell you the truth....They are just about the same as far as I can see.
The diffrence I have seen is that IO makes plays at key times.
He and Arrington share that gift. Luck I guess.

You are right as far as them being close.
I was just referring to the fact that wearing football gear can drastically effect your play. A lot of players strip their pads down to allow more freedom, you see it moreso in lacrosse.

Iffy will put up a real good fight for a position on the field, therefore I'm delighted to see strong competition at the position. It will only serve to make them both better players,as we'll need them both "MAYBE" before the season ends.
Hail To The Redskins!!!
