I'm really not trying to be down on Iffy at all, I'm just saying that to me he just did a respectable job... which is... respectable.

But Taylor is a different class if he lives of up to his expectations, and that's just something that I cherish. I HATE Roy Williams more than any other Puke... not for any other reason than that he is IMO perhaps already the best football player on that team.

I want a guy that can blitz, smash Rbs and still cover both TEs and slot receivers... Iffy will never be able to do that.

I also think that Bowen will have a much better year at his natural position and maybe more importantly, with a defense that isn't so rudimentary. He took a lot of bad press last year for the hit on Canidate in training camp and as I stated at the time, it was over-hyped. I think practices will be a lot more intense this year anyhow, and they all better start practicing a little more like Bowo.

Spurrier's gone... summer camp is over.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

I like Iffy and I like Bowen. It sucks to see that one of them will be benched, but I guess with Sean Taylor taking their spot I can't complain. I don't care who wins the starting spot. I think they are about equal in talent and ability. One thing is certain though. Are safety possition is strong, which is a good thing considering our defensive line doesn't appear to be strong this season.

Finally somebody said it. What Iffy brings is depth. What is wrong with that? He is a viable back-up with experience starting...meaning it was a wise move to resign him. I don't understand how it can be seen any other way.

I agree with Gambit in that Bowen was probably the person with the most blown assignments, etc. I personally think Bowen sucks and would take Ohalete over Bowen ANYDAY. And as Dangermouse said... If Bowen was a better player than Iffy why wasn't he playing his natural position of SS over Ohalete??? Anyway I'm rooting for Iffy.

Iffy needs to step up his game to even make the team. Signing at that number even makes him more vulnerable imho -
I'm not sure he's even going to be a solid contributor on special teams. If he works hard and watches tape, takes better angles and makes some plays... I hope he proves me wrong - I'm not that proud :0). Otherwise, he could be a cap casualty to sign someone after June 1st.

Is this really that hard to figure out?

.... because of the two, Bowen was better suited to playing out of position...

So if they thought ohalete couldn't play FS worth a lick... they should have put him there just so Bowen was at his natural position?

No.

You play the guy who you think can adapt to the new role there and let the other guy fill his natural position... which is what happened.

Personally, I don't think it had ANYTHING to do with who was better at SS and it had EVERYTHING to do with who was thought to be less of a casualty at FS.

Good point, Boss.

But anytime we talk about who played where last year we should put an * by it to be fair . . . the D was coached by a Division II coaching staff last year, after all.

And to iffy lovers out there, if he was so 'worthy' why'd they draft a safety with the 5th overall pick and wait until now to resign the guy? HHHMMMMM?

Give the number to Portis, Iffy! And learn to cover punts!
Dave Butz was a monster. Nobody ran on number 65.

Whoa ! Jake slapped me ! The law says, I can't slap back. He's a minor. I can take a leak into the wind, though.
Now, what I was getting at was, Iffy is not that good that I would hold on to him simply to have depth. That's a load of crap. After June 1st, I can have all the depth I want. It isn't as if he's an old Gibbs or Williams guy. He's simply average, in my opinion. Nothing spectacular. Just a guy.
If cutiing him loose means thatt there's a lesser chance that I'll have to listen to this horsepoop about the #26 anymore, I'd absolutely let him go. He isn't even a viable option at third string. He's scatter-brained in his play.
I have no emotional ties to Ohalete. Never met him, never saw him up close, never sought his autograph. I don't have the perspective of a T/C regular attendee. All I know is what I see on the tv, and I'm not really thrilled with it.
Maybe he impressed Joe Gibbs enough to get resigned, but I don't see where he has game yet.
Let the Cowboys have him, as Gambit wishes. I wouldn't fear Ohalete being on the other side.
Bowen and Taylor ? Give me some more of that, please.
If you're questioning my ability to run the Washington Redskins, I have got some news for you, Junior Hog.
You're right. I couldn't do. it. I'm a fan now, no longer a coach.
Still, on my roster, there is only one #26, and I would do what is best for my team. Division is not an option.
