WR is probably the toughest position to draft.
Too many intangibles, starting with the quality of QB throwing to them.
I would take a very cautious approach when spending high-draft picks on them.
We simply are not savvy in that respect.
Rod Gardner? Devin Thomas? Malcom Kelly?
Crowder is one of those few recent WR picks that actually paned out and he was a 4th rounder.

I'd say QB is the toughest position to draft but WR is probably right behind it. But the Skins also have a habit of drafting prospects with million dollar talent and ten cent heads.

Yeah, tough position to draft and REALLY tough to draft for need. We need help at WR immediately. Hard to say for sure that you can draft a guy even in the first round and know he'll be ready to be an effective starter day one.
And hey you were knocking Alabama, but Calvin Ridley was drafted late first round last year and his numbers as a rookie weren't too bad!

Nah, the Skins would rather draft a defensive tackle in the 1st round than a #1 WR. Don't get me wrong. They've drafted some damn good players on that DL recently. But comparing value a #1WR (something they haven't had in forever) is worth far more than a DL. Hey, if Alabama has another WR like Ridley I'm all for it. But the two best prospects at WR this year are probably Metcalf and Brown out of Ole Miss. One or both could be there when the Skins draft.

Undoubtedly, yes. But's there's also A LOT more research about first-round QB prospects that of WRs.
So getting a top-pick WR that actually meets expectations is somewhat of an obscure art. That was my point.

I'm not sure having a point is allowed here. Let's ask the resident expert. Where is SkinsJock anyway?

Cam Simms is a Bama boy too... And is healthy. His measurables are there, lets hope he can be a contributor! He had some niiiiice catches in preseason, could've played last year (made final 53 then high ankle strain week1; i think on the opening damn kickoff) but we activated Bibbs or one of the RBs instead and could only acrivate 2.
What wr was claimed by NO off our PS? I dug him too... But liked Simms' upside more

Everyone hates DS... But this is pretty damn cool if you ask me- and the reaction described is awesome!

Not sure if Collins will get permission to dawn #21, nor am I sure how i feel about it... #36 is still open. I say rock that this year, if you produce half the magic THEN we can talk about unlocking #21- thoughts?

#21 is officially retired by Dan Snyder. No one will be wearing it.

I was not a big fan of Landon Collins wearing the No. 21 until we just interviewed him. Based on his reverence for Taylor and what he will mean in the next few years. I am now okay with it.
What do you think?
Honor him. Wear 21.
52%
Nobody should wear 21.
48%

I've never been a fan of retiring numbers (though I understand ST is a special case). I personally prefer the idea of honoring those players by wearing their numbers. Like if you want to wear #9, go talk to Sonny and ask for his permission to wear it. Or go speak with Sean Taylor's family, let them know how much he meant to you, ask their permission to honor and remember him by wearing it.
I just like it as a way of bringing deserved attention to those great players again. Retired numbers just get dusty and forgotten.

Especially in football where there are only so many numbers for each position it makes little sense to retire them.

I don't ever remember anyone being that genuinely happy to be here, and not just because of the money.
