If the Redskins are a "win now" team, then get Bryant. If not, if they are are building for two or three seasons from now, then why spend so much on Alex Smith? Smith seems like the kind of QB who should have gone to Jacksonville or Buffalo, two teams that made the playoffs with good defense, and Jacksonville with a fine running game, but lousy QB's.

If I were to spend 7-8 mil per year on an available player, right not -- I'd sign Hankins over Dez, HANDS down...Hankins fills a need. Hankins allows us to pick whatever position Thursday night that we want, based on who falls to 13. AND Hankins is NOT a cancer.
Why Thursday night is important -- if we get to 13 and Fitzpatrick or James AND Vea or Payne are there -- Hankins allows you to take a DB. Without Hankins, I think we have to take Vea or Payne. Not against a DL at 13, but would rather fill as many holes as we can.
