And that was 2 mistakes by them - the first being going for 2 too early.

their biggest mistake was kicking the field goal - there was no way we could have stopped them scoring a TD, they had momentum
I agree that the defense is a huge concern but there is something about this group of players and coaches - they have each others backs and they have shown toughness - all of these guys are giving it all they've got
looking forward to another tough game and our guys finding a way to get it done
this game, this week is all that matters

I think they should just hold him and Kuechly both out. As a precaution:
Cam Newton gets MRI on throwing shoulder
Posted by Darin Gantt on December 14, 2016, 4:00 PM EST
Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has taken a beating this season. And apparently, the pain has been sufficient to make him get a closer look at it.
According to Bill Voth of Black and Blue Review, Newton had an MRI on his throwing shoulder yesterday.
The tests didn’t show any structural damage, and he’s expected to play this week against Washington. But he was held out of passing drills during the open portion of practice, which is new.
“It’s nothing to be scared about,” Newton said after practice.
Newton has never taken a “veteran day” from practice before, so it’s at least a little notable, but Panthers coach Ron Rivera didn’t seem to think it was a big deal.
“Every now and then you’ve got to do that for him because he doesn’t take any breaks unless he has to,” Rivera said. “It was just one of those things he wanted to get out there and work, so we limited him trying to get him to take a little bit off.
“He’s a mentally tough guy. Some guys look at rest days as it shows you can’t take it. That’s his mentality. He’s tough-minded. He wants to be out there. He wants to show his teammates that he wants to be out there. So today was a little bit tough on him.”
The Panthers don’t have to turn in an injury report today because they play Monday night.

I want to see Newton play so Kerrigan & Baker have somebody to play 'Tag' with.

Don't sleep on them. The Panthers can still win the NFC south if all of the following happens:
Panthers: Win out (@ Washington, vs. Atlanta, @ Tampa Bay)
Falcons: Lose out ( vs. 49ers, @ Panthers, vs. Saints)
Buccaneers: Lose out (@ Cowboys, @ Saints, vs. Panthers)
Saints: Lose one (@ Arizona), then win out (vs. Bucs, @ Falcons)

the opening line was 4 - Sunday night it went to 4.5 - as of today the Redskins are favored by 6.5
96% of the guys that make picks are picking the Redskins - of the top 50, only 1 is predicting a Panther win

I'm convinced that Newton is playing hurt, but I'm confident he'll play on Monday night. His completion percentage over the last few games is horrible. But he still scares the hell out of me.

I think if you're really honest with yourself, what you're REALLY scared of is our woeful defense.

I heard Joe T. on the radio this AM talking about the 1983 skins. Where the defense struggled but the offense was averaging 35 points/game. Do I have that info right?
Anyways, it just got me thinking, I need to quit worrying about the defense and accept that they're not going to stop jack. It is what it is. We have a really good offense with the potential to be even better. Let's score 35 every game!

No you don't Defense that year was +43 in TO ratio...best ever in the NFL I believe...Kevin and Cooley were talking about how that was why the O was so good, lots of shorts fields.

+43 wow! I'd sure take that this season. Thanks for clarifying it too. I think I misunderstood where they were talking about those high scoring games v. the Raiders (37-35) and Packers (47-48).

That
Raiders game was the greatest Redskins comeback victory I ever saw (maybe the 14-13 Dallas MNF Brunell to Moss, was better). Great game! Unfortunately they spanked us in the SB on 4 huge plays.
The
GB game was great too. It was MNF on Halloween (I was in the hospital recuperating from an appendectomy). Something like five lead changes in the 4th quarter. We lost at the end on a missed Moseley FG.
