That's just a recipe for failure. The Cardinals game proved it. Scoring 30+ points a game might be a strategy to beat the Cleveland Browns, but its not good enough to consistently beat teams with a legit QB and a top defense.
If the Redskins can't play better defense there is little hope of making the playoffs and zippy chance of winning a game against a team like the Seattle Seahawks.

I'm not saying the defense cannot play better - they have to - everyone has to do a better job than we saw last Sunday
just pointing out that the Redskins have to take better advantage of their scoring opportunities
our Red Zone stats suck and it's not because of the players it's because of the play calling
our total offense is #2 and we are #3 in the NFL for Red Zone opportunities but our Red Zone scoring TDs is #31 = GAG ME
we need to win this game this week or we are putting our fate in other teams hands = NOT GOOD
we don't need to go 4-0 - 3-1 will do it but ... win this game and then we only need 2 of the next 3
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Do you think Bowles could be out of a job with the Jets. If so, why not get rid of our DC and pick him up. He was a Redskin and he uses an attacking defense. Just sayin....
Changing the ways of Today (salary cap) will allow us to celebrate championships in the Future.

That's interesting. I'd go for that.

Snyder is a loose cannon - there is nothing rational in his decision making as far as this franchise is concerned
Bruce & Scot seem to have him 'under control' right now - the product on the field is improving
everything will be fine .... as long as we make the playoffs

38-10 at halftime. ooof.
When I hear people talking about coaching changes with where the team is now, all I can hear is this in my head...

Dan Snyder hasn't done anything other than sign checks in over two years but don't let that get in the way of your narrative.

Meh. He might be good. He might not. Not that Barry is killin' it.

well - that's certainly encouraging .... not sure what bearing it has on anything but it's possibly useful to someone
"pretty good info" sums it up nicely
maybe the opposing offenses should make sure they don't get 1st down on the first 2 downs so they know they'll get it on 3rd down
and if they don't get the 1st down on the 3rd down, our stats on 4th down defense are even worse = 54.5%

This team is not just bad on third downs. They are historically bad on third downs. Only one team has been worse in the past 15 years.
Yeah I'm not really sure that info has any bearing on anything either. Not like its affecting our ability to win games or anything.

History means nothing - it's what happens on the field today that counts - we have to get better defensively but if we don't also get better offensively, it will not matter - the outcome of these games is not determined by the fact that we've always been bad
anyone that thinks we are OK offensively and would be better off if we just got better on stopping other teams one 3rd downs is just kidding themselves

Genius post. Watching yesterday's game literally come down to one final drive where we needed the defense to make a stop, I was thinking, "You know, it really doesn't matter much if the defense plays better here or not. I'm probably just kidding myself on that."

historically, we probably should have lost that game because we haven't had a good defense in decades
it certainly helped that they decided to kick the FG instead of scoring a TD against our historically bad defense
