Geez, all this gambit-hating. Think about what your reaction would be if you saw the pukes ranked #2 somewhere and the Skins quite a bit lower on the list. . .

I for one don't think that it's necessarily a given that we'll take the Cowboys in the NFC east this year, but the kind of talk I'm hearing on this thread makes it seem like it would be playing a CFL team. Remember, Pacells took *these* guys to the playoffs last year, and do you really think that Parcells can have an offseason that would make that squad *worse*?

. . .

Alright, I need to go take a bath after that rant. But let's keep our heads on straight here.

The Cowboys got lucky last year. They can't repeat unless they can get some talent at quarterback and running back. I can believe they'll address the running back issue in the draft. But I can't believe they can get the quarterback issue addressed. At least not this year. Henson could do it. But it will take him at least one year. Maybe even as much as three to be a starter.

The Cowboys will suck until then.

Its funny how you guys only noticed one part of what i said and that was the part that the skins were ranked too high. No one must have noticed that i said the cowboys were ranked too high....

Face it you only have one posistion better than us on offense.(tight end).

I would take 3 good character guys like Coles, Gardner and McCants over Me Shawn, Terry "Drug user" Glenn and Antonio "Cry baby " Bryant.

Yeah Brunnell is getting older. But as you get older you get wiser. And he will teach Ramsey everything he knows.

At RB you have absolutley no room to talk. You have the worst starting RB in the NFL. And by the way 205 pounds is by know means small. Oh yeah the ggreatest runningback of all time (Walter Payton) did not weigh that much.

Our O line coach is the best ever. And we have 3 pro bowl caliber players. Our Center may not be there but he is very smart and gets few penalties.

Your O line will have a major whole when Larry Allen is gone.

Lets talk about D. You have the better D line. But we have the better linebackers.

And in the secondary. Our corners are better. And everyone right now is saying that Sean Taylor will be better than Roy Williams. If this happens our secondary is better too.

I gotta disagree on the LB part......you have Arrington , but he does not do what it takes to be a good LB..he is physcially gifted but he makes mistakes, blow assignments and misses holes. I would take are 3 smart LB's and the back up Bradie James from LSU any day. Terrance Newman as a rookie had better stats then Bailey last year. Newman is better then all 3 of those hurt CB's you have signed and combined with Pete Hunter who is 6'1" 205 and runs 4.34 and Donald Mitchell who was a starter with Tennesse we are pretty even. Sean Taylor is good but granted he played at Miami and we wont go into the D-line and LB that the Hurricanes have that make the secondary look good.

OH and you talk about our 3 WR compared to yours....well yours have not done a thing against our young secondary the past 2 years......and our guys have eaten up Bailey and Smoot.

Ohalete had better stats than Roy Williams last year. Does that mean he's a better player? Newman is mediocre right now, but he's the only worthwhile corner you guys have. Hunter and Mitchell both suck, and you know it. The whole Dallas media has said so also. You guys have MAJOR holes in your secondary. Nobody here in Dallas is happy that Meshawn is here, and everyone thinks the Cowboys are dreaming if they think any of their QB's will be successful. Get a clue Gambit!! You're worse off than we are! It's back to 5-11 for the Pukes!!

That's probably because you were looking to duck any trouble. No true fan of any team would disagree with a higher ranking of their beloved franchise.
Here's the onlyliest problem I have with any of this. I think that Rasby will do fine as our stop-gap guy at TE. With the receivers we currently have, we don't necessarily need a threat at TE. What we need is a solid blocker who can also catch the short ones as the QB's last look down the field guy. Rasby will be asked to "not lose", not to "win" games. That'll be just fine for now. Remember, we didn't always have Donnie, you know.
I think it's far more important to fill the minor holes with role players that Gibbs can trust, and draft big.
As in "Taylor".
As such, the ranking is probably right on the money.
At least, I hope it is.

Look. I have seen worse than Gambit. I was once on a message board where a Dallas Fan with, yes, it is rare online, good spelling said he could see Quincy Carter turning into a Donovan McNabb. And, by his language, I don't think he was an idiot. I doubt Brunnell is that good even. Patrick Ramsey might be someday, but in a different way entirely.

So, Dallas fans probably do have to much hope in Carter.

Ohalete had more tackles then Williams only because he had to make more of them...... because yall defense sucked and he had no choice....LOL Ohalete had no sacks while Williams had 2.....Ohalete had 1 more INT then Williams. Ohalete had no forced fumbles last year while Williams had 2.......SO UMMM I REALLY CANNT SEE HOW YOU CAN SAY HE HAD BETTER STATS....

Gambit you are forgetting about Fred Smoot! Mark my words Smooty will be in the Pro Bowl this year! And while Springs isnt as good as Bailey when healthy he is a Pro Bowl caliber corner! Oh and when we draft Sean Taylor watch out he is going to make Roy Williams look silly! Sean Taylor is the next Ronnie Lott!!

We pay him to make tackles and make big plays (Interceptions). Not to rush the passer or force fumbles. That's how he has better numbers, you said it yourslef.

That is funny!!!!!

Hey Gambit....Taylor Jacobs first touchdown catch. Maybe you can tell me who he caught that against. I do know it was this past season in Texas Stadium. I just don't know which one of your secondary gave it up. Please help me.

Thanks in advance.

Since you did say two years back. How many touchdown passes did your secondary let Danny Wuerful get? I forgot. Can you tell me please. I'm sure you know.

Thanks in advance again.

You can't really count tackles as a good or bad stat, especially for defensive backs..... It could be he made alot of drive ending tackles, or it could be they threw the ball more in his area because his guys that he was covering were more open.....

Let's not forget that "Omellette", as my friends and I call him, made the game saving play against the Patriots last year. He's a player, and if we draft Taylor, I hope Bowen gets benched instead of Iffy.

The point he was (I thought obviously) making is that stats don't make the man. You can argue anything with stats, and as you yourself have kindly researched, in some aspects, Ohalete's stats WERE better than Williams. You were trying to use that argument to say that Newman was better than Bailey....surely no-one with any knowledge of football would suggest that? You then turn straight around to say that you can't prove anything with stats. You want it both ways when it suits you.

Hey Silent1903, That was a nice point about Gambit wanting it both ways when it suits him. It couldn't be more true!!!
