when the going get's tough, the tough get going - it's going to be interesting to me to see who steps up for the Redskins
bring it on
bring it on
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Realistically, we can beat the Saints, the Bears, and the Giants. Not saying we will, but I am thinking we could. I'm leaning more towards 2-4 over the next 6 games, with a shocking upset (Panthers or Cowboys) being possible.
The Pukes are 2-5. Last place. beating them would not be an upset.

Romo is expected back before we play the Cowpies. That changes the game, both literally and figuratively.

Re: Let's Get Real
Like him or not, I think Djax makes or breaks this offense. Teams have to account for his speed and ability to get behind defenses, plus he and Cousins seem to have good chemistry. That deep threat will open up the run game, give Cousins more time in the pocket, and take pressure off of Garcon.
I think all of those games are winnable with a legit deep threat spreading out the opposing defense.

This is exactly what I think as well. I think every game is winnable (except the Patriots) for the rest of the year. The deep threat should also help the run game.
Re: Let's Get Real
Every game is winnable if everyone just does their job to the best of their ability ... this game this Sunday is a good opportunity because the Patriots are a good team & they're favored by 14 - time to see these guys put it all together & find a way to win after having 2 weeks off
losing is OK as long as these guys play hard and smart - a bad showing will not go down well IMHO

When was the last time we were 14.5 point dogs???? I want to say it was that faitful day back in 2007 when we played NE..... and lost by 45. That game is the single reason why I hate the Pats.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Anybody who has watched them play this season knows that they are a much stronger team than their record shows.

Maybe so. I'll be surprised if Romo comes back though and is immediately back to form. Its a risk playing him at all.

Maybe Kerrigan will be back too, just in time to retire him.

I saw where Kerrigan will be back for the Pats, some sports tease about Kerrigan leading the Skins for an upset win.

Yes Kerrigan is probable for the Pats game. Heard it on the radio.
Re: Let's Get Real
me too ... there's no need to fire the HC or bench the QB unless they clearly show that they are not doing their jobs as well as they are capable ofriggofan wrote: I'll be pissed if people are out there the day after the Pats game calling for firings and benchings.
this franchise is mean't to be all about accountability, so the HC and QB need to be held accountable just like everyone else on the roster
losing to the Patriots is not a big deal - it's only a big deal if coaches and players don't do their jobs as well as they're capable - that's a big deal
I'd love to go 3-3 but more important to me is to see the team play competitive football over these next 9 games, that would be HUGE

Re: Let's Get Real
Get pissed all you want. Jay looks lost. This game is too big for his simple mind. Fire Gruden because he does not have it. He will never have it. Just like Cousins will never have a stronger arm.
RG3 may be a horrible QB, but what I now know is that Gruden is too stupid and incompetent to make that call. I wonder if it is RG3's problem or if JG doesn't like him because JG doesn't have the talent to coach him up like he was hired to do. Ive seen RG3 take us to the playoffs. JG has not performed except by pandering to a stupid media group who is swayed by his tough coach talk even though he doesn't back that talk with performance on the field. His teams look ill coached and lost. He gets outcoached in the third quarter. He is a failed experiment. AFL coaches do not make NFL Head Coaches.
I want to see RG3 with a good HC who will actually have the talent. 7 Games of fat stupid Jay doesn't hold any credibility with me.
Fire Gruden. Acknowledge Cousins is a damn good backup. Give RG3 a chance with a coach who is good enough to adjust to the talent on this team.

I was actually somewhat pleased with cousins today and I'm not a cousins believer. I'd like to see if he can play more consistent. I'm not comfortable to say it's his team all year, but for the time being.
With Gruden it seems he says we were outcoached after almost every game and they were flat to start the game. Almost like the win before the bye was so rewarding they got too high on success. Not acceptable.
Re: Let's Get Real
ok. Your post is rational and I like that.
The problem with Kirk is these two things: He throws too many picks and his arm is weak.
Everyone jumps on RG3 about his sacks. Well Picks are much worse. But everyone knows who we are talking about when we say Captain Pick so I don't need to go into that one.
The second is the problem. The guy has a weak arm that is inaccurate down the field. Teams figured this out and have been playing his dink and dunk game by stuffing the run and challenging him to throw. Remember a couple of months ago when everyone was saying how we will not win if Cousins throws the ball a lot. Well...that's what other teams are making him do. It is why we cannot run 100 yards with 2 RBs. Kirk is given the opportunity to pass because his weak arm takes away our run game. The irony is that Cousins play makes us a one dimensional offense that he doesn't have the ability to carry and he will never have the ability to carry. We are already checkmated even though the moves are down the line.
I love Kirk as a backup. He is not a starting QB. RG3 gives us a better chance because his strong accurate downfield passing opens up the run game and makes us a multi-dimensional attack. I agree with Bayless that Gruden sabotaged RG3. Gruden may think he was right, but Gruden is a poor coach and his opinion holds no water with me or nor should it with anyone who really looks at this guy.

I agree with you, but Kirk was pretty composed when things went bad today. Robert's contract is one of the big reasons he's not playing imo. If Gruden s back I believe Kirk will start. If there is a new coach, it will be much less likely.
I think I'm not fond of Kirk bc annoying fans praising him when he plays well and puts down Robert, Robert babying Kirk when talking to reporters and him being unprofessional when discussing Robert. I admire Robert right now, he's making himself to be ready whenever it's his turn. Look at the Texans Ryan Mallet. He gets pulled from a game bc injury and he didn't have flow of the game. His back up Brian Hoyer plays well and takes the starting position. Next think Mallet pouts and misses the team bus. Gets cut bc he doesn't know how to handle his emotions better.
Note Robert makes a lot of money so do your current job.

Re: Let's Get Real
RG3 took us to the playoffs and left his body on the field. I still remember and I appreciate the playoff experience since we have had very few over the decades. I am fine with giving him some time to heal and learn his third offense since 2012.
Why everyone wants to throw him on the trashpile because of a fat incompetent coach and a noodle armed backup that takes away our run game is beyond me.
The reason he is still on this roster is because Gruden will be fired and RG3 will be given a chance to be a QB here again. If he sucks and is permanently ruined I can deal with it. But 7 games under an idiot coach who looks lost in almost every single game is not proof of that to me.
