Posted in the game day thread, appropriate here tho- anyone know wassup? Feels like I've seen it happen before just can't recall the meaning behind it.. had ODB just given Trent his, I'd hVe written it off as losing a bet lmao
I am not sure why they personally did it, but it is very common to do this european soccer.

I hearing a lot of finger pointing at one thing or another, but all in all, the team played like horse dump.
Cousins was a liability on the field, showing that he has NOT learned to protect the ball any better than in previous seasons. He was poor on his reads and threw too many high risk passes. There were at least 2 other passes he threw that could have easily been intercepted. It is NOT about how NYG has his number. Cousins is WILDLY inconsistent and is usless until he works that out. Personally, I don't think he can. He still needs to end the season as our starter, but unless something drastic happens, I don't see him as a primary option moving forward.
Jones has a fumbling problem. A BIG BIG one. That is a product of the way in which he runs. He runs to HIGH. He needs to get lower. This isn't college. He has all the talent in the world, but he needs to play like a big boy. I'd prefer Morris to play every down if Jones fumbles 1 out of every 10 times he carries the ball.
Our DEF was exposed in that the short to intermediate passing routes kill us. If our DEF doesn't force errors, we lose.
Special teams is still a disaster. Yeah, great runback by Ross, but too little too late. That blocked punt set the tone. Plumber (#59) KILLED us out there. If I were the coaches, Plumber would currently be on a "one little mistake and you're cut" leash. In fact, I'd probably bring Bates back and cut him. I try not to personally make rash decisions so I necessarily wouldn't advise this, but whatever, he was the reason for the blocked punt and his penalty cost us big time.
The #1 issue; however, is our propensity for penalties. That is on our coaching (and as said above, which players the coaches suit up).

Observations...
I don't see how if Cousins continue to turn the ball over we can stay with him. Everybody have a bad game or two. You try to have patience with a guy and look for him to improve. But of the qbs we have, he has the most pass attempts with Jay Gruden and it is the same ole same ole. I don't see the improvement and poise. This year the offensive staff seem to try to help him by providing more of a balanced game, short passing routes, conservative approach but he still turns the ball over regardless. What I thought we was getting this year with Cousins was the gunslinger that would give us a chance to win by scoring points but occasionally turn the ball over...but he's not even that this year.
It was sad to see us down by multiple touchdowns and Kirk continually dump the ball off on short passes and check downs. Not one ball was thrown deep...and I don't want to get crazy but not even the intermediate passes (15-25 yards) were thrown. These are things he was doing last year. If it was just one bad game cool, but he turned it over twice in the first game as well.
This next Philly game will say a lot.

The INTS didn't alarm me as much as the wide open passes Cousins missed to Reed. It was almost like he was playing "tentative" last night. Like he didn't want to have a repeat performance of last year and let it get to his head.

Now that I can post without swearing, in summary, what we witnessed was a poor game plan, poorly executed. I refuse to be a rat abandoning a sinking ship three games into the season. We knew there would be growing pains even if Kirk was a viable quarterback option. The real test will be whether or not the coaching and players can adjust and win the home rematch. That would be progress.

This was not a game they a had chance to win. Last week's rare win was way overrated, the G-Men were not going to lose three in a row, it was a prime time game and the G-Men own them.

The only thing I have to say at this point is Gruden is the one being evaluated now. There is a reason SM stated that RGIII wasn't going anywhere this year. Hang tough people this season is another evaluation throw away but I personally have faith in what SM is doing here. Read between the lines and let it play out...

I tend to agree. Reminds me of 2004, when Joe Gibbs returned. Many players he inherited just vanished during and shortly after that season.

Tonight, the Redskins lost their MoJo.
Back breaker
Really?
So say jones scores on that play. The Skins have to recover a onside kick and score again and guess what they've got to do it all over again.
Not really. Not even close. He fumbled with 9:40 left. We then three-and-outed them and they punted with 7:30 left. So no fumble combined with that would have us with the ball down either 25-12 or 25-14 with 7:24 left and the ball on our own 26. There was enough time to avoid onside kicks all together.
Let's not forget the big momentum shift that would have meant for the Skins. Never underestimate the power of the Mo'.
Oh well, it's a new opponent this week, fresh off a win. Let's go, Skins!
