I do.
cowboykillerzRGiii wrote:Accounting for matchups, week in and week out, is kind of the whole point isn't it??
If you are talking about whom your fantasy players are facing on the field - yes. But if you are talking about your fantasy matchup in THN - what manager you are facing - then no - it's not "kind of the whole point" at all.
Do you pick up guys based on your THN fantasy opponent or based on what your squad needs, what's available, and whom they are facing on the field?
Do your pick ups usually affect how much your opponent scores on you? Have you been making blocking moves every week to limit your opponents ability to score?
I have 300 more points against than LTI. Does that really have anything to do with roster moves he made?
Like I said I'm not complaining and I've had more than my fair share of good luck. You should see my first two playoff wins last year - I could not have been luckier. You can also see that we have virtually identical stats except for our records. I attribute that to the luck of the draw. I lost two times when I put up 190. Happens.
BTW - I too have left tons of points on the bench.
Not sure why you are wagging your finger.

The individual matchups of course..
I've noticed people who make too many moves, or not enough moves have poor records...
Maybe your indecisiveness or over thinking cost you some Wins... Not the lack of a four leaf clover?
Lmmfao I don't feel like bickering bro I'm done

Hey - I just figured out why you wagged your finger ... it's fun !!
Anyway, I've always checked things out after a match-up is over and no moves/non-moves have cost me yet.
FWIW, the "what if" of being roughly 100-50 if we played every team every week means we "should be" 8-4. So 6-6 vs 10-2 is just a swing of two games in each direction - nothing unusual about that in a 12 game sample. I've just been a little unlucky and you've just been a little less unlucky. No biggie. I'm just glad I'll be playing in week 14 - as long as a few guys don't outscore me by 200 this week !!
Peace.

Good luck bro, even with a loss I'll be the regular season champ... Among some of the better FF players I've played with; that's a pretty big accomplishment in my eyes.
Talking about the draft and injuries and what if I picked up Manzel, is just a silly waste of time. Even the number you provided, can't possibly be accurate when everyones starting lineup changes every week.
I could be 12-0; but what if I lose to the lowest seed? When you get down to it you can write off every bit of football as luck, one way or the other.
We both know a little more goes on then that.
I said your team is better then your record indicates... I also see us tied in the Hognosticstions... But what if I made all of the Thursday games picks? Lol
I've spent much to many hours on my phone and watching football... To chalk up all of my success to dumb luck.
Being pretty good yourself, you understand the hours we've put in to this sport this year, and it just seems like a cop out. You don't have to pat me on the back or anything, but you can thank me for shutting up PotRoaster! Lmmfao

I'm NOT attributing your success to dumb luck. I AM attributing your precise record of 10-2 vs what it would have been with a different THNFF schedule to the luck of the draw. Big difference. There might be a THNFF schedule where you would have been 11-1 (I think you were doomed no matter which THNFF opponent you played a few weeks ago). In that regard you may have been a little UNLUCKY. OTOH, you may have had the best schedule you possibly could have had. Some statistician could figure that out.
You drafted a good team and managed it well. You deserve congrats for that. Here they are ...
I think the "what if" that says what your record would be with my THNFF schedule is accurate since I do not think you would have managed any differently based on your THNFF opponent each week.

What if Aaron Rodgers had a legitimate WR core?
Thanks.. I'm proud of how I've done. First year I missed the playoffs, then last year I squeaked in, now I'm the #1 seed. "Luckily"
I'm so lucky in my other two leagues too.. drafting Luck, and Bell in the first rounds worked out awesomely. I'm so lucky that I was able to get to 1st place and 3rd place despite that bad "luck".

If he did, then he would have had a legitimate WR core. Duh. Not sure what you're getting at.

I might sound snippy. I'm not. I'm just typing.
I never said your draft was lucky. I never said your moves were lucky.
i'm saying all of our precise records hinge on the luck of the scheduling draw. I'm saying you made the pick ups and drops you made with little or no regard for your THNFF opponent each week.
The fact is, you would have beaten LPJ last week but would have lost to Apex. It's just a fact.
I say Apex had the best team all year. He scored the most points (outscored me by over 72 points) and had he played every team every week he would have gone 120-49 !!!
Not sure who has the best team right now. I suppose the goal is to have the best team in week 16 and a good enough team to get in and win the first two rounds.
I think you and I were in a virtual tie for the claim of 2nd best. I outscored you by 41 points (only around 3 per week) and had we played every team every week I (107-62) would have won 3 more games than you (104-65).
Ultimately, I think only one guy got screwed by the luck of the scheduling draw - Yogi.
If Yogi Cappsta had played every team in the league each week, they would be 85-83-1. RiggoFan would be 56-113 if they played every team every week. Yogi finished 5-8, Riggo finished 8-5, and Yogi beat him week 13 by over 50. C'est la vie.
Was RiggoFan not lucky to draw the schedule he did? If you do not like the word luck, how about this: Was the schedule RiggoFan drew not more fortunate than the one Yogi drew?
No complaints here. Just making observations and stating facts about the nature of THNFF. #shrug
BTW - this is easily my favorite format. I was in a league once simply based on total points for the year. It was the most boring thing ever.

Hey LPJ:
Did you lock rosters after the semifinals? It looks like adds were made by people week who were not in the finals. Just wondering.

Well, I've been silent through this whole thing cuz I never want to jinx myself................so, is it done? Is the coast clear?
I'm kinda glad that the Vikes sat down Peterson, or he would have put up bigger numbers then I woulda been *sh$t* bricks.
And Ted Ginn laid a 1.40 for me (you piece of shiite)
Funny cuz I was rated with a Grade C ...............in September for how poorly I drafted.
So with that...............y'alls can EAT MY DUST............!!!avatar APEX PREDATOR Draft Report Card
C
Grade
Recap
Draft Results
Despite a Set of Beast RBs, APEX PREDATOR Should Have Hired an Expert
Draft Summary
Someone get Chip Kelly on the line because it's time to make moves. Projected to finish 11th in THN Football League with a record of 4-9-0 (2,289 points), APEX PREDATOR will have to get creative if they want to reach the postseason. They went after guys who can tote the rock with their early picks, using three of their first five picks to scoop up RBs DeMarco Murray (second round), Mark Ingram (third round), and Andre Ellington (fourth round). They have the highest-scoring TE pair in the league, as they have Rob Gronkowski and Coby Fleener on their team.
We're not mad. We're just disappointed. Go nominate yourself for the Toyota Hall Of Fame to make it up to us.
Schedule
While Week 8 has the most players on bye for APEX PREDATOR (four), Week 4 is actually projected to have the team's highest number of idle fantasy points. Taking a look at the entire season from start to finish, they have a more-difficult-than-average schedule. Along with the fifth-most grueling overall schedule, both the first four games and last four games of the season are pretty average for APEX PREDATOR.
Draft Notes
Positional Fortitude
APEX PREDATOR has four positions that are better than league average. While RB, QB, and K are projected to be good, TE is the strongest on APEX PREDATOR.
Close to the Vest
APEX PREDATOR was focused on a squad with minimal risk, grabbing eight "low-risk" players out of 19 picks.
Going Out with a Whimper
APEX PREDATOR didn't end the night the way they might have liked, winding up with the fewest projected points in the league over the second half of the draft.
A Pair of Proven Winners
APEX PREDATOR has a couple of fantasy MVPs in their lineup. Last season, two of their players (Rob Gronkowski and DeMarco Murray) finished among the top-20 players that were on the most first-place fantasy teams.
Potent Potential
Victor Cruz and Malcolm Butler are a couple of late-round fliers with decent upside for APEX PREDATOR.
The Heist Is On
The other league managers passed over a diamond in the rough. According to ADP, APEX PREDATOR got a steal in snatching Marques Colston in the 11th round (152nd overall pick vs. ADP of 109.5).

Congratulations Tribe. It's funny how things work out. I had the drafts for my two leagues on consecutive nights, and drafted many of the same players (the big difference being QB. Luck in THNFF, and Brees in the other, because Luck was taken by the guy before me). I tanked in THNFF, losing several games solely because of the matchup (including when I played you), while in my other league, I lost my first three games, then only once more. Last night, I won the Championship game by over 130 points (I started Cousins over Brees). I also had the highest points for in that league by more than 300. I made the fewest roster moves, but when I did make one, it paid off in spades. I'd pick up a FA for the week and he would pump out the most points all season. I started that league, of old college buddies, over 10 years ago, and this was the first time I've won, so I was really pumped. Anyway, great job this season. We now have a new name to join the ranks of THNFF champions in LPJ's sig line.

Thanks Deadskin. Glad to hear you won your college FF league.
For THNFF, I was pick 12 of 14. I did some homework but was left with Gronk as my #1 pick. Then after 3 RBs etc......I looked at round 5 and there was Tom Brady, still sitting there. I snatched him up and did well most of the season with the Brady to Gronk combo.
That's the real deal when you can "double dip" with the QB to Receiver combo.... (it's not a secret anymore.....hahaha)
Thanks everyone for a good run. The 2 that really struck FEAR in me was Cowboy Killerz and Pot Roasted.....
Do I get a trophy? (virtual trophy?) Maybe next season we can ALL put in $50 and make it fun....(or is that gambling, not allowed on THN?)

APEX:
I thought you drafted a solid core - Gronk, Ingram, Allen, Brady, Denver - then made great managing decisions all year and especially down the stretch. White, Jennings, and Baldwin were HUGE! I know you got 2 of those guys right before I tried. Pot Roasted kicked my ass the same way - beat me to 3 or 4 key guys by a minute or two.
I know you don't wanna hear about any of my BS so I won't bother - except to say why the hell did I bench 2 studs against you in the playoffs??
This league was tougher than ever and you beat us all. You were the best all year and deserved it. Well done.
