I doubt we're that far away but it certainly gives us a couple of drafts to figure out where we are at QB

hopefully Griffin becomes a good NFL QB - I doubt that BPA is a QB - there's just not that many ... but then again, you never know for sure

I can't imagine the Skins using a high draft choice for a QB this year, maybe a late choice as a long term project but I'd be shocked if they draft one in the first couple of rounds. I think they have decided to go balls to the wall with Griffin this year and Griffin has to play significantly better in 2015 or they will cut him rather than spend 16M on Griffin, 2015 is put up or shut up.

the 2015 draft is the beginning of the new ear here - everyone is on notice, not just Griffin but the HC and the FO ... everybody

Snyder will give them a VERY short time to make things better here and if he does not see some serious improvement, especially in how his QB plays, there will be some serious ramifications for all concerned

:hmm:

BPA where and when? Unless every QB in the top 256 is picked too early (of course, that could happen), at least one of them will be the BPA at some point. Then it's just a matter of whether or not we happen to be on the clock.

I propose we send Kirk Cousins and a fifth round pick to Tennessee for Zach Mettenberger. That guy can't be all that happy now that Mariota is in town.

Cousins would probably get a chance to start for a short while and show what he can do. He's a good guy who knows how to be cool backing up the franchise. We get the 6'5" 244 lb QB who can at least be RGIII's backup for the next three years.

What do you say?

If Zach doesn't want to play 2nd fiddle there, why would he want to do so here? Is he that much better than what we have? I'm reading that he has a big arm, but he's slow on progressions, takes too many sacks, holds the ball too long, and has/had character issues.

There don't seem to be a lot of good QB prospects left, but I like Shane Carden as a sleeper project the more I read about him. The knock on him is arm strength and physical talent, but he's tough, has a great football IQ, and is a winner. I think he'd make a very safe backup and/or game manager.
