SkinsJock,
I agree Snyder needs to bring in a good FO, but we've all been saying this for years, including you.
My thing is that Snyder has had every opportunity to do this, but has failed. That tells me he doesn't know what a good FO is, and as a result will never bring in that which he can't recognize. That leaves Snyder believing whatever the people around him are telling him; the same people who are just wanting to keep their little "buddies" around as co-workers. Snyder is an idiot what doesn't know how to own a football team. So always people have to do is B.S. him with a bunch of jargon he doesn't understand and then he'll think they must be his answer.
As long as we have Snyder, we will have these pains each year.

I am done buying tickets, I am not giving Snyder a dime, that is what I am able to do. Tickets are going for $5.00 on StubHub so many others have made the same decision. Snyder is a terrible franchise manager from a win an loss perspective but a good businessman, if enough people refuse to buy his product he'll improve it.

The point about having a good football man in charge of personnel decisions is absolutely true. Problem is, those guys don't grow on trees. They are few and far between. While it's too early to tell much about Allen, it's pretty clear that our drafts have not been as productive as they need to be to build a consistent contender. And no matter who the coaches are, you need the talent, because you can't make chicken salad out of chicken ****.
And while the criticism of Snyder was valid a few years ago when he and Vinny made most decisions, that's not as valid during the Shanahan regime. The sad truth is, Shanahan didn't do much better than Snyder/Cerrato, win-loss wise. Hell, Shanahan didn't do any better than Zorn. So I think what we are seeing now is the result of incompetent rebuilding which rests on Mike Shanahan.

If you're in need of a good laugh, check out who the Sporting News claims we should draft if we pick #6 next year:

I'm tired of my life getting messed up on Sundays, by an organization that doesn't respect the fans.
End of message

1. Dan Snyder to commit to staying completely out of the football operations and live up to that commitment. Without this change there will be more of the same.
2. Hire a talented GM & architect to establish a blueprint for the Skins. This is a must there won't be substantial improvement with out a better football guy engineering it.
3. Replace or augment scouting staff to support the new GM.
4. GM to assess whether Gurden and or his staff are his guys.
5. Incrementally build to the blueprint, no quick fix or masterstrokes. Commit to a the blueprint long term.
6. Annually measure personnel performance against the blueprint
7. Commit to having smart, good character people who are disciplined on and off the field.
8. Commit to firmly establishing a team focus not a star focus.

9. Oldschool to golf on Sundays next fall and DVR the game for selected viewing Sunday night so my Sundays aren't wasted watching the most poorly managed NFL team live. I got sucked in again this fall but not next year no amount of Snyder's jive is going get my hopes up next year, I'm done with hope as long as Snyder runs things in Ashburn, done. My short game sucks but there is some hope for me on every shot much more I have for the Skins under Snyder.

Several years late on this one. Heck, I DVR when we're good. I usually start watching around 2:30 and catch up to live TV just before 4:00.
