I don't agree with that. I think McCoy and to a lesser extent Cousins are pretty much ready to play. I don't think either of those guys are what you would call "works in progress". The question for them is are they good enough? But I don't believe there is really a lot more work to do with them. They've played the type of offense in college that RGIII is trying to learn now, right?

YES - I do not mean to imply that Kirk or Colt are not good QBs - they are ... right now
they have shown that they are as good or better than Robert playing QB in this offense

Jay and Sean must think that Robert will be a better QB than Kirk or Colt - despite the play we've seen, they must think that playing him is best for both Robert and the Redskins going forward

Jay has said that he's playing the best QB for the offense at this time and is not just playing Robert or whichever QB is best for the Redskins going forward - I think he's not exactly correct on that because I think he thinks that Robert will be better by playing him

hah. I don't know about Jay and Sean but SOMEBODY important at Redskins park seems to believe that.

Man, I hate to be such a pessimist this week. I'd just like to see one glimpse of the player we've been expecting.

I think that Jay is in charge of who is playing and what they are trying to get done ... he's in a similar situation with Bruce as Haslett is with Jay - show me what you've got - at the end of the season, I'll consider the results based on what you've had to work with

as far as the QB is concerned, these guys see what is going on on the practice field and unless Robert completely sucks and Kirk or Colt have incredible practices - the QB is going to be Robert

Jay's not changing QBs unless Robert shows he's not going to make it or he needs a break
we all can think Colt might give the team a better chance at success but Jay knows which QB is better

I also would not discount Kirk if he's having great practices as well
I'm sure the input on how Kirk and Colt are practicing is being given to Jay

I hope they play RG3 the rest of the season ... and the skins get blown out every game ... dont score a point ... and then have a high enough draft pick in 2015 to get a better QB.

The worst scenario is to play Colt McCoy the rest of the games and the Skins look GREAT and win the rest of their games and finish 9-7 but miss the playoffs anyway. Then our draft pick will be too low to get a premier QB in the 2015 draft.

Honestly I have grown totally disgusted with RGMe ... his egotism, his delusion, his extreme lack of preparedness, his subpar intellect, and his lack of talent. And you know what -- his teammates hate him as well. It's clear that Gruden doesnt want to play RGMe anymore ... that Allen and Snyder are calling the shots that RG0 plays and totally sucks game after game. Gruden is losing the entire team with this stupid owner directed move. Snyder will of course blame Gruden and fire him ... oh how I wish Snyder would fire himself.

This is ridiculous. No way are the skins signing a QB with their first rounder. Not even if RGIII had his right leg snapped off would we do that.

I don't think we've seen that at all since 2012, sadly. And IMO the reason 2012 was "electrifying" was partly due to a offensive scheme that was new and untested against defenses. It was a simple one read call, and if Griffin didn't have his first read (Garcon) open, he'd run. Guess what happened after Griffin started gaining a ton of yards? Garcon was wide open. Griffin looks identical to 2013, perhaps even a bit worse. And that's alarming considering the excuse last year was he missed the entire off season.

hah. Yeah I heard Kevin Sheehan break that down the other day too, and it unfortunately made some sense.

Maybe if there was some ridiculous QB prospect coming out in 2015, but otherwise I agree with you. We're going to cut bait a year early on RGIII and draft Jameis Winston? There's just no way.

I don't think I'd play that game.

Yeah, at that point the National Guard would have to be called in. There would be a riot in Ashburn.

You need to really read what Cooly said. It was not some dimwit fan talking smack, but a former player that knows what he's talking about. And the bottom line is, Robert is failing at every turn. Sad, but true.

2012 is over .... he gave us a lot of excitement, but since then, he has been pretty bad, and seems to be lost.

I'm not disputing that Robert has not made any progress or that he's given us any real reason to think he's going to be a really good QB

I think that if Robert were as unlikely to improve or become a good NFL QB as Cooley and others are asserting, then Sean and Jay would be looking into what they could make of Kirk or Colt - that Robert is still being given the help indicates to me they see promise or it might also indicate that as bad as Robert is he's still a better option than Colt or Kirk ...

ergo - Robert is the better QB on the roster

I think a little more time will show that Robert is going to be our starting QB for a good while - but, I also hoped that Jason would work out better and look at how bad that turned out. Jason was never even close to being the athlete or scholar that Robert is :D

I don't really see it as a question of likely or unlikely to improve. People might have opinions on that, but nobody can really know for sure. He's a competitor and by all accounts a smart guy, so I'd expect he's capable of getting better.

For me, I think RGIII needs to show every Sunday that he is the QB most capable of winning THAT DAY. Its not fair to fans and definitely not fair to the other 53 players to put him out there otherwise. I think that's likely why there has been some of the locker room dissent.

Robert has not done well but there are many like Cooley that are asserting he's not going to make it and it's time to move on

I don't agree with that - we'll see - I've been wrong before and I'm sure I'll be wrong again

this kid is special - he will overcome all this

I was a huge supporter of your son when he came out and loved it when we drafted him. I hope he finds his "special sauce" again because I think we all here want to see him succeed...thank you for serving our country btw.

You are delusional. Any Redskins fan worth their salt WANTS Griffin to succeed. No question about it. Or else they wouldn't be Redskins fans. However, when you keep playing at the level Griffin has played since 2013 patience begins to wear thin. It's not about not wanting him to succeed, it's about being frustrated with him continuing to suck in the pocket.

Perception is up to the individual. "Many" might be an exaggeration but clearly this is a very true observation. I can see it.
