Second, I am not sure how to feel. I absolutely despised this guy as an Eagle. It is like when Deon came except Jackson is still in his prime. I am not sure I will be able to really root for him because while I don't think he is a gang banger he is a punk.

Third, I do believe the Eagles participated in a character assassination of this guy so they could justify to the fans why they dumped him. I think that is pretty crappy but that is how they operate.

Fourth, there is no way this does not help the offense and it is only three years so if he acts like a punk they can dump him. Hopefully he has someone talking to him about how to act like a grown up.

I felt the same way! Especially with is dance the jerk a few years ago. But I think he can grow on me. I just hop e we have the money next year to sign orakapo to a long-term deal!

Personally, I'm hoping we don't have to use him on returns. If you look at what he did last year, he really wasn't anything special returning kicks and that just puts him at greater injury risk. Andre Roberts can return kicks, and we have Chris Thompson too.

I'd like to see us using Moss for PR. He's always been very good at it, and injury should no longer be a concern as he won't even be cracking the starting lineup.

Its also a lot less than the "experts" out there were saying it was going to cost us. $8m/yr for a guy with that talent and only really stuck with him for two years if it ends up not working out. I don't know if that was great negotiation or DJAX just really wanted to be here or what, but its a good deal.

Eric Decker got 5 yr/$36 million with $15m guaranteed. I think Jackson is justifiably worth more than Decker, and we're not on the hook for that 5 year contract.

Whoever is returning kicks, I expect they're going to have better players blocking around him.

Moss had an uphill battle just to make the roster though. I'm thinking its going to be a lot tougher after this move. One thing going in his favor though: Moss is such a good character, leader type of guy. Just the type of player the locker room needs.

Improved WR play and QB play will aid the offensive line greatly. Last year taught us that. That being said, they need to improve.

I'm just as excited as Jay Gruden thinking of how many possibilities DJax will provide to this offense. He'll run the go-route, and Pierre Garcon will come underneath. We can hand it off to him on reverse/misdirection plays, we can run double WR screens now that we have two stud WRs that can pick up YAC, and not to mention that he'll most likely be our punt returner. I could also see them maybe throwing a Wildcat play or two out there.

Now for the upcoming schedule. I already know we'll be playing scary NFC West (2013 - NFC North, 2012 - NFC South). Now, will we be playing Brady's Patriots or Andrew Luck's Colts?

They've got to play before we can make these kind of statements.

That signing was closer in history to our Super Bowl teams than our current squad. Time to let it go.

Roberts... yes...

Thompson certainly has the physical tools, but, as you may recall, he was benched from returning when it became clear that whenever he made a decision, or a move... it was almost always the wrong one. Maybe he forgot to pay his situational awareness subscription... maybe it was an extended case of rookie nerves, but whatever the case, he has a way to go before he becomes the answer in the return game.

I would love to see him get his head on, because he would be electric!

Now the question is what number is he going to wear?

There is a 1% chance he will get #10.

So maybe 1? He wore that in college

Id like to edit my post...
This is the Best wr core since I can remember... the depth probably making it as good as ever.

I was born in 1985- so I know about Monk, Clark, and Sanders... just like I know about the hogs, Sonny and Riggins...
Can't say I remember those days from when they happened tho. Jus vague memories of sb parties and what not.

This group has the talent to go down in history as the posses second coming!!!

Switching gears can someone direct me to the line-up? Kept Moss, let Morgan walk, kept Robinson- any mention of Hanktime?

I think two factors caused it...

- injury. He too sat on the sidelines through most of the offseason.
- It was a new role for him, he hadn't returned punts in college.

Lack of experience + lack of practice + new responsibilities = failure.

That being said, I want DJax to do PR. And have someone else do PR.

This year we have the AFC South.. Jax, Tenn, Hou, Indy
Also like you said the NFC West.. SanFran, Sea, Ariz, STL
Of course the NFC East idiots.. Nyg, Phl, Dalass
and the other "according to our record" games are.. Bucs & Vikings

That's a really great lineup. Real weapons at every position. It's all going to hinge on how well our OL can perform.

Love it. But if its going to hinge on anything, I think most of us would agree its all going to come down to RGIII bouncing back this year. He played behind pretty much the same line in 2012 and 2013.

Btw Take a look at that lineup and be sure to give some quiet thanks to Mike Shanahan. If you didn't catch this nugget on the radio or twitter today, here's how those skill positions looked when Mike took over the team his first year:

QB - a washed up McNabb
RB - Portis on his last legs
TE - the shadow of Chris Cooley
WR - Moss
WR - Roydell Williams
WR - Anthony Armstrong

Its not a perfect situation Jay Gruden is walking into, especially with some of the issues on defense. But he's got something real to work with.

I'm all about crediting Shanahan (and Allen) for building the real foundation for a team. And for being patient enough with money that he left us in a good cap position — or approaching a good cap position, taking into account the penalty.

You were four when Clark, Monk, and Sanders all had 1000 yards the same season (1989). Sick...just sick...

Actually Eric Decker got a 5 yr $36.25M deal from the Jets with $15M guaranteed including a $7.5M signing bonus...

I haven't seen the deals of DJax deal yet but I hear it's 4 yrs $32M that will void down to 3 yrs $24M, and the signing bonus is around $5M

His first yr cap hit will be $4.25M to $4.5M.... Vinny has definitely left the Building

I still want to see the contract details but "Yeah (He was due $10.5M this year and $21M over the next two with Philly), and although the 49ers had less cap space than the Skins going into this, they could have paid him more than what he signed for.

I know this, Bruce knew this, and Vinny would have known this... I would have given him more in the signing bonus and about $14M in guaranteed money over two years, Vinny would have out bid himself and paid about $10M more, Bruce kept him in town AND made a good deal

As much as I'd like to give all credit to Allen... I think this has as much to do with it being personal for DJax, resulting in the 'skins getting a bit of a bargain... I mean, we all know he probably could have gotten more elsewhere, including with the legit contenders in SF. He is playing for a rival to his former team, will see them twice a year... and wants a little payback. I just hope he's nice and disciplined about it.
