I still feel our Dline would be that much better with another Nose tackle and moving Cofield to LDE/RDE. Still it is not like our Dline is a weakness. Our secondary obviously was the weakness last year. So I am glad we addressed the secondary in the draft.
Kudos to big Barry C.

I hear Albert "the wallow" Haynesworth is looking for a job.

A Job Doing What?
Nobody wallows like "the wallow".

What a shame. He could have been the best if he wanted it.

Speaking of Jenkins, I wonder how our draft pick Brandon Jenkins would do on the line. I know he's an LB, but can't help to wonder. He seems to have a lot of power that could be molded to perfection.
If he played in a 4-3, he'd play End, but in a 3-4, the D Ends are more like agile Defensive Tackles who take on Guards, Tackles & Double Teams, for which he'd be undersized by 40-50lbs. Not that it's impossible, but most 3-4 ends are in the 300lb category like Carriker, Jenkins, and Bowen.
Understood. Thanks for the clarity Hogster!

Expect to see this kid on obvious passing situations. We gravely need speed at the LB position.

Barry Cofield looked like a premiere NT last night! Heard he was coming into this season in better shape after having a full offseason with no surgery or nagging injuries.
Dont' know his stats but he was impactful on the field.

He was emasculating a quality (if nasty) center... and it was beautiful to see.

Yes, yes it was. particularly because it was happening amidst a . . . a . . . base rush?!

Barry, the number 1 NT. LOL in what world does Pat live in.
Seeing as he was a scout for the following teams and their "awesome" records
Phoenix 5-11
Tampa Bay 12-52
NYJ 49-95
Combined- 66-158
Clearly this shrewd talent evaluator has a keen eye for talent.
Come on guys look at the source before celebrating. Pat has been a contributing memeber to some of the worst teams in football.

Really good player. Our defensive line was really underrated last couple in my opinion. Hopefully Chris Neild can get some burn with Jenkins suspension.
I would argue the most dominant defensive lineman I have seen play for the Skins in the last decade is Cornelius Griffin for his first couple seasons in DC. That defense was so good.

Barry Cofield - DL - Redskins
Redskins NT Barry Cofield (broken right hand) will be active for Week 1.
Cofield is out for the rest of preseason, but will sport a club or something like it for the opener if his hand isn't fully healed. It's not a major concern.

I'm rewatching this game, and Cofield looks every bit of the #1 NT in the game right now.
Or at least in the NFC. Vince Wilfork is always a monster too.
