Cundiff had the nerve to say that even if he made his kick, the team still would have lost by 4 points. Not only does he suck, he's a tool.

I heard Cundiff managed to get all of his equipment loaded into his car, but would be back with a U-Haul for all the points he left on the field.

Funny as these jokes are, I'd never say any of this to Cundiff's face... he could pull a shank out of anywhere.

Lmao,
Oh Kai, here we go... Can't get.much worse that's for sure. And maybe w omg on st through the endzone isn't the best ko. High and barely in, daring them to run.. and getting shut down before the twenty is even better

I'd agree with that ckRG, except, then you're hoping the player gets tackled

I think the reason Danny and Mike like the ball into the end zone is to ensure there is no run back and not HOPE the player is tackled inside the 20

IF a kicker can kick it high and deep (end zone to the 5) it only follows that he can kick it lower and through the end zone

good news/bad news - he'll get to stay if he makes all of his FGs even if he is not great on kickoffs
he will not be here if he cannot make the deep kickoff AND he misses FGs inside the 50
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I don't really understand the touchback thing. Kicking the ball through the uprights under pressure while other guys are trying to block it - I understand why you might not make that kick every time. But shouldn't the ability to get a running start from the 35 yard line and kick the ball out of the endzone be sort of like the bare minimum requirement for an NFL kicker?

^^ you'd think ... and yet ... :?

you'd think that if the guy can kick long field goals consistently AND under pressure he'd be able to kick the ball into the end zone off a tee

and yet ...

it would be great if Kai can come in here and be here for years - we have not had a good kicker since forever

It must be that guys are either accurate or powerful. The accurate&powerful kicker must be like Sasquatch.

No. The last truly consistant kicker in Washington was Chip Lohmiller.

John Hall was great when healthy, but always had groin problems when in DC. A massive hitter, too, with a LB-sized body.

Sasquatch? I think there have been some sightings at Oakland Raider games wearing an #11 on his back.

Heck, yeah. It's fun when your kicker is trying to lay someone out.

In Low Driller's best year as a 'Skin he hit 75% and was 9 of 15 between 30 to 39 yards.

Pole Killer did have a 5 year stretch between 72% and 75% so that is consistency.

An oldie but a goody (and one that I first heard in reference to Mark Mosely, unfortunately).

My all-time favorite joke of this type was the one that circulated soon after Super Bowl XXII:

Redskins Fan #1: Poor John Elway. He went home after the Super Bowl and couldn't even get into his house, had to stay in a hotel overnight.

Redskins Fan #2: Really? How come?

Redskins Fan #1: Because somebody painted an endzone in front of his
door!

Forbath did well today.....a 49 yd kick right off the bat. Only one game, but maybe we have found our kicker.

And he's young, too. If he's good, we could have solved a situation that has gone on almost as long as QB, before RGIII. A good kicker is so important! I don't want to even guess at the number of games we've lost in the last 20 years due to missed FGs.

I think Forbath is our guy. Only one game, and one kick. But, I've got a hunch. Liked what I've seen from him

His 50 yarder looked very good, so that was promising -- and he was probably nervous since it was his first NFL kick, so that made it even better.

I would have liked to have seen more touchbacks on kickoffs though. He had 7 kickoffs with 3 returns -- 2 of which ended up in scoring drives. That is really the only thing I could see that wasn't ideal.

All in all a great showing by the new kicker, though.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.
