If I was
ey and they wanted me as the backup FB vs TE, I would tell the Redskins, No Thanks.

Why? He's out of work now and nobody cares what your position title is. Just ask Brandon Banks.
He was drafted as an H - Back which is essentially a hybrid FB/TE. I doubt
ey cares what his job title is.

Or Niles, Alexander, Orakpo, Barnes or the other guys who played different positions the last few years. In
ey's case, I thought I read he was already practicing some FB in the offseason anyway. But the idea that a guy would pass on being flexible to play in the NFL is always a ridiculous comment.

But only did he practice at FB that is just about all he played during the preseason. He played some FB three past two years with the Skins.

ey next week. Now MS didn't sound like the meeting was already scheduled, so may be Bruce was saying that the team planned to meet with Chris and just worded out stop it sounded like they already had the meet planned.

A Rex-for-Cooley move would make me happy. It's pretty clear at this point that RGIII has learned everything he needed to from Sexy Rexy.

What do you mean? No lollypop passes, no holding the ball too long, no bone head decision making. RG3 hasn't started to learn from Grossman. And we need to bring back Campbell too so he can show Robby how to drill the ball into the feet of an open receiver and not read a defense until everyone's in the locker room after the game.
My favorite part of Griffin though was how he threw it to pretty much every eligible receiver on the field, that shows amazing vision. I also liked that he didn't take off until he'd exhausted every option. Not that it's not exciting watching someone play like Vick, but too many injuries.

Maybe we cut Grossman, maybe we already did. But I personally don't think we should cut him. Grossman may be a terrible starter, but he's a good backup. The key word in cutting Grossman isn't Griffin, it's Cousins. They'd have to have a lot of confidence in him to cut Grossman.

I know what you're saying, but there's a difference between letting Cousins come in to finish one game if Griffin goes down and turning to him for the rest of the season. Clearly that's the plan for Cousins the next few years, but this one's a stretch. The whole team played well, you really want to be an injury away from finishing the year with a fourth round quarterback and the waiver wire?

It's not like cutting Rexy loose would mean he wouldn't necessarily be available if something happened to RGIII. Do you really think there would be a big scramble to sign him if we let him go?

I don't know about cutting Rex. Can someone explain why the regular center cannot be the long snapper also? That would make sense - IR Sundburg and bring
ey back. Where was Niles Paul yesterday?

Sundburg is better at it than anyone else. You don't want to chance a bad snap on FGs and PATs (Turk
), and he played with the arm the entire second half yesterday. He probably plays with a cast next week.

I'm not saying it doesn't address "any" point, I'm saying it didn't address "my" point. Since you quoted me, I was looking for it to address my point.
I said it's too risky to rely on the waiver wire and a 4th round rookie for the season if Griffin goes down.
Responding that Grossman
may be available doesn't address that. Furthermore, even
if he is, he won't have practiced with us between now and then.
We should totally not cut our backup to keep a special teams player, QB is too important. I like Cousins, but if he's our starter backed up by a journeyman in week three, our season is toast.

Not happening now (if it ever was), I suspect it had something to do with NS breaking his arm and our Bernstein shreading his knee.

I think I heard it in Shanny's Monday presser, but I can't remember for sure. I know it was reported and it was something I heard on the radio, but i'm sorry that I can't rember the exact time.
As far as unrelated injuries impacting
ey's meeting, that was just a guess on my part as to why the meeting was waived off. If they did impact it, my guess would be that they had "bigger fish to fry" pertaining to those injuries.
