The Butler move confuses me. I know we could use another CB, but we are in desperate need of a back up OT. We don't have a capable one on the 53. (please no one tell that we do, I know Black is there, he just isn't capable IMHO).
Hopefully, they are waiting until after the first game, then they will bring in a veteran OT. Lets hope no one gets hurt on that first game.
If I were a betting man, I would say tackle or running back (Slaton Rumors emphasized that), but CB? Your solution sounds good! Shanny says if the OL is out that that fits our scheme he will get him. Ryan Harris?
Ryan Harris signed with the Texans!!!
Burgundy Blog@BurgundyBlogIf Ryan Harris pans out for Kubiak in a very similar offense, will represent a missed opportunity for #Redskins.
Re-signed Bailey to practice squad plus lb Gamble from San Diego Chargers cuts, te peterson from Rams is a fine blocker for RG3 and rbs

New Number Assignments - Note Change for Royster
Well, here are those newcomers’ numbers, as well as a uniform number change by one current player:
- Running back Evan Royster is changing uniform numbers from No. 35 to No. 22. Royster wore No. 22 at Penn State
- New Redskins cornerback Crezdon Butler is wearing No. 30.
- Practice-squad signees Antwon Bailey (running back, No. 34), Tom Compton (offensive tackle, No. 68) and Doug Worthington (defensive end, No. 90) are keeping their previous Redskins uniform numbers.
- Practice-squad signee Emmanuel Arceneaux (wide receiver) is wearing No. 18.
- Practice-squad signee Robert Hughes (running back) is wearing No. 40.
- Practice-squad signee Darryl Gamble (linebacker) is wearing No. 53.
- Practice-squad signee Deangelo Peterson (tight end) is wearing No. 87.
- Practice-squad signee Jason Shirley (defensive tackle) is wearing No. 93.

If I remember correctly, Shirley was considered a very good athlete with MAJOR off field issues (possible jail time) coming out of college.

In 2008 he had drunk driving hit and run for 30 day jail term.

Your memory serves you correctly! Plus he was drafted by the Bengals, so that alone confirms your memory.
Seems like he has been clean since he go into the NFL. Maybe Marv Lewis can reform guys up there.
But Don't Call Him Shirley

So Terrence Austin is toast?? Did he land somewhere? I liked his blogs when he was a rookie at training camp, he seemed to have stepped it up this year too...

Per St. Louis Post-Dispatch (@jthom1) and via @john_keim, #Redskins signed former #Rams TE Michael Hoomanawanui to practice squad...
Best I can do, but will confirm before I change that cap page AGAIN
And the correct spelling is
Hoomanawanui he is rumored to be a pretty good blocking TE, and was with the Rams the last two years

Three teams in three days

and you can say he upgraded each move. Rams cut him, Skins signed to the PS for roughly $88.5K, now he's with the Pats making a minimum of $615K... The only way this happened was he lost his job on Labor Day

most people were happy with a three day weekend

Hard to imagine what it must be like to go from being fired to hired to promoted at 7x your salary in a three day period.

Not to get way off track, but what's the deal with NE and TE's??? They have two of the best in the league, but it seems like they're constantly signing them. Didn't they bring Winslow in this week too?

Belichick not only knows how to use TEs, he also knows how to keep other teams from getting and keeping TEs.
