Every year we Redskin fans think that somebody's going to be wildly better than his record. This year it's Morgan. He was a good college receiver at Tech, not a great one: was drafted late (6th round); has a history of injury; and has never had a good year statistically or been able to avoid spending a good deal of time on the bench. Also, he was a cheap pickup because nobody wanted to pay him much. It's true it's said by a few that he has potential, but what does that mean? Next to nada, Armstrong has potential, and so do all of our receivers, some of whom will wind up on the practice squad. But, who am I to pop balloons, dream on.

And keep on thinking that Alexander is a super player. It makes me chuckle. If he weren't versatile, he couldn't make the team. He's on the bench much of the game for a reason. Not saying I don't like the guy; it's just that he's not good enough to be a starter and still wouldn't be even if he spent all his time trying to master one position

Crazyhorse1....I agree concerning Morgan. I started to post something to that effect the other day, but did not have enough time to complete my thoughts. Basically, if you look at receptions and yards for those 3 since 2008 (when Garcon and Morgan came into the league), you would see:

Moss - 288 receptions, 3645 yds
Garcon - 188 receptions, 2519 yds
Morgan - 131 receptions, 1764 yds

I HOPE Morgan does do well, and has a break thru season....or even a solid season where he is healthy and posts good numbers. But, I would prefer Moss (who I have seen play, and I know can make tough catches even with some bobbles last season) or even Garcon right now.

Really, our WR corps is largely unproven. We all hope that Hankerson has a big season....that Morgan does well....that Armstrong develops into another deep threat with his speed......if those events play out, we may be sitting on a potent offense. If the WR's do not pan out as expected, or there are a lot of serious injuries....especially to those WR's that are supposed to be our speed merchants....then the offense could struggle again as without credible deep threats, the defense could challenge both our running game, and RGIII's roll out threat, easier.

the x is the receiver on the weak side of the formation, which is more on the left side as the te will line up next to the right tackle majority of the time.

the problem with the redskins is that they SUCK at running the football to the right side. it's been documented how they were one of the worst teams at it and are one of the few teams that considers it's running strength , the weak side.

if they don't run the ball better to the right (it's the same personel again, no changes) then that playaction won't mean much.

I agree and hope Moss and Garçon have great years but I'm really hoping Hankerson can make a big comeback. He was finally clicking and put up a great rookie game when he got hurt, I think it was a franchise rookie record. With Rgiii I hope we see all our receivers and tightends looking instantly better as a result of his accuracy and touch.

As for Morgan I'm on the fence but always support local guys so I'm pulling for him to be what we need him to be. If you talk to some die hard miner fans they were hurt when he came to dc.. before he broke his leg he was the leading reciever on their roster what ever that's worth.

If those four pan out. AAA is going to have his work cut out for him and might be the odd man out. With imo BB being a lock, Robinson younger and hungry, this Lance Lewis kid, and the other camp Heads its hard to see shanny keeping him unless we keep 7 wide outs.

Even more cool plays along with explanations for what we could be watching in our offense this year.
