He might like to stay in the NFC East and play the G-strings twice a year.

Excellent. And thank you for spelling "re-signs" correctly. I still want to know who quit every time someone who went to government schools says someone "resigned." I'm not anal about spelling, but that one actually has the opposite meaning of what they meant, it's not just a spelling error.

And I would have no prob with him running down the field as fast as he can and flattening Devin Thomas's Roody Poo Candy A$$ on a KO return ;)

Call a taxi for Beck for a start, that's $1.2m right there....
Ok you just saved $1.2m. Although you have to sign somebody else to take Beck's place, so how much did you ACTUALLY save? $400K? Keep going though. Who else are we going to get rid of?

I love this BS. Not only do we need to sign our rookies, find an OL-man or two, a safety and a CB, but we're going to start cutting players from our existing thin roster so we can pay our 37 year old LB $9m a year.

For anybody who deals with reality, the problem with Fletcher is that he's at the end of his career. For younger players, the skins have been able to put together a high $ package squeezed in over four or five years. With Fletcher, too much of the money has to fit under the cap in the near term.
Can I play?

For starters Beck will save $1.3M so there's another $100K there.
The Redskins would be sitting at $6M under the cap without Beck, with $5.5M set aside for rookies, and $3.4M for PBP.
Re-working Trent Williams will free up another $6.5M minimum or $12.5M with Beck gone.

Here's what they can do...
Five years, $35M with $7.2M signing bonus and $10M fully guaranteed

Signing Bonus and the first two year's base salary are the guaranteed money with (base of $1M in 2012 and $1.8M in 2013).
The deal would include option bonuses of $2.5M in 2014 and 2015 (if not paid the contract voids).

Half million dollar roster bonuses in first two years.

2012 cap it would be $2.94M in 2013 $3.74M

Base salary would be $4.5M in 2014, $6.5M in 2015 and $8M in 2016.
If they void the deal after the 2013 season they will take a cap hit of $4.32M if they don't the cap hit will be around $8M and must be re-worked before the Option bonus is paid.

How'd I do?

This could be done with the room they have now but would leave them with less than $500K in space so they'll have to make a contract move to re-sign Flecther.

For those that don't know Flecth fired his agent right before free agency started.
Per J.I. Halsell ‏ and JasonLaCanfora

LB London Fletcher's contract w WAS is 5yrs, but voids to 2yrs. 2yr deal is worth $10.75M, with $5.25M fully guaranteed

Not bad for someone that just makes up numbers.....

I think Fletcher is the best football player on the team, so I don't think we'll sign anybody who plays their position better.

Except Griffin, hopefully!

Looks like $3.5M SB, $1.75M base in 2012, $5.5M base in 2013-2016
2014-2016 are voidable years.

2012 is fully guaranteed and $1.5M of 2013 base is guaranteed against injury only.

Looks like 5 years $27.25M but is really no change to what was reported... 2 years $10.75

Is that a good deal for London? I've lost track of what he wanted and/or could reasonably expect.

Considering the market, his age, and the team's cap issues, I'd say....

Yes, better if he has a great year (cap hit will almost triple next year), the top ILBs on the market got deals like:

5 years, $25.5M with $11.25M guaranteed but S Tulloch is 27 years old, 25 year old C Lofton got a 5 year, $27.5M deal with $7.8M guaranteed and another $5M due next year if he's on the roster, they both signed early on after the market opened, more recently D Hawthorne signed a 5 years, $19M deal with $4.5m guaranteed. Hawthorne at 26 got less guaranteed money, and yearly roster bonuses to boost the value of the deal. Not really what he expected, but I don't think he would have gotten more anywhere else.

London is the epitome of someone who leads by example. Character guy, smart football player and a motor that won't quit. I'm really glad that he's back and that will more than likely play out the remainder of his career in Washington.

I'm curious as to how close London has to come to Brett Favre before his achievement is rightly recognized as better? Probably will have to actually surpass it, which (not factoring in playoffs) would take a little over 6 more years.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

Yep. I doubt anyone but a QB will get close to touching that record, if anyone ever will. The other positions are just too physical.

Well, since Linebacker clearly has more inherent risk of injury than QB, I personally feel that London really only needs another year or 2 (with some playoffs, too) to have a legitimate claim to having the more impressive record as compared to favre. I know the nation won't see it that way. But this is nation is made up of idiots.
