You do realize that the Redskins didn't bother asking for a "second interview", why? Because it's useless, as most players have stated on ESPN and ESPN Radio. The coaches have tons of tape, opinions from former coaches, combine interviews and pro-day interviews to go off of. So really, this would be like a 4th or 5th interview.

Maybe Luck said yes because he knows that he's going to the Colts... Maybe RGIII declined because he know's that he's going to Washington. Don't compare their lives to ours because it's not a direct comparision and they should not be judged as such. Eli held out and got 2 superbowl rings for it, I'm sure many people here and elsewhere got their panties twisted over it and who got the last laugh? Whatever is done right now has no bearing on his future success. It's just something else insignificant for common people to gripe and be jealous about.
One last thing, it was said that RGIII didn't throw at the combine because he knows the attention that he's getting. He used that "star-power" to cause more scouts to come view his teammates. So in reality, he's using the power that he has rightfully obtained to help his teammates... I'm sure that'll be twisted into a negative also.

Who would you rather play for skins or colts? Well over the last decade that isn't even a real question as the colts have been a model nfl franchise and the redskins have been one of the worst.
And not doing private workouts now helps his teammates how??

It forced teams to come to the public workout at his school where his Baylor teammates were also present and working out. Kinda nice of him, don't you think?

The Colts are a one win team.... So yes, as of right now the Redskins are the better team as a whole. Also, RGIII fits this scheme better. And regardless of all that, it's a draft, nobody has a choice in where they go...

Here's something else for you, the Redskins haven't requested to see Luck either. Entertain the idea that you aren't all-knowing and that these two guys may already know where they're going, regardless of some wacky owners twitter feed. If we entertain that scenario, it'd be in RGIII's best interest to not potentially injure himself for a team he KNOW's that he's not going to.

Seriously? Looking to me like you painted yourself into a corner, and are now trying to convince us that you don't now have floor paint all over your shoes... what a mess you are making.
What does the Colts roster look like right now?
What does the Redskins roster look like right now?
What do the respective coaching staffs look like, right now?
Who has the most holes?
The Colts are now in full rebuild mode.
The Redskins are remodeling some rooms.
How would forcing scouting and coaching staffs to come to Baylor to watch RG3 work NOT help his team mates?
You can try to spit in our Wheaties all you want... looks like all you are doing is dribbling down your shirt. Griffin is a quality, high character kid, with tons of intelligence, tons of personality, tons of leadership, and tons of athletic and quarterback talent.
Time to take of the Deb Downer suit, and get on the train. This kid is outstanding...

I voted for Luck if I had a choice, but that he seems to want to be passed over and go to us is tilting the scale quite a bit. You're always better with someone who wants to be here. Now it's not just Luck versus Griffin, but a presumably disappointed Luck (for not going #1) versus a thrilled Griffin.

The Colts had a model franchise. Have you seen the Peytonless version lately? You might notice on their roster that they are missing more than just Peyton. The whole coaching staff and general managers ta boot.
The choice isn't between the past decade's Colts and Redskins., if we can even call it a "choice."
On how does it help his teammates, now? I dunno, I let someone else tackle that one.

I heard on the FAN 106.7 DC Metro, that Casserly has chimed in on this topic and said that Ben Dogra, RGIII's agent did this too him and he has to pleasd with Dogra that the Texans were serious.
This not what Casserly discussed today, but it is a transcript showing how Mario handled it. RGIII did make a choice to not workout, because like MArio, he could have changed his mind.
Before last year's NFL Draft, defensive end Mario Williams sat down with former Texans general manager Charley Casserly to discuss their once criticized, but now hailed 2006 draft experiences when Williams was selected as the No. 1 pick over running back Reggie Bush and quarterback Vince Young.
Below is a transcript from the first segment of the three-part interview.
Charley Casserly: Let's go back. Two years ago, we are in draft meetings about the defensive side of the ball, and you are our top-rated player. So I say to our operations man, "Let's get Mario's agent on the phone and let's get Mario in for a visit." So about a half an hour later, the operations man comes back and say, "He's not coming." I said, "What do you mean, he's not coming?" He says, "He's already booked for next week." So I say, "Wait a minute. We have the first pick in the draft. This isn't complicated. If we want to take him, he comes." So he says, "You better talk to him." So I get (agent) Ben (Dogra) on the phone and Ben is fighting me, saying: "You're not serious." I say, "We are serious." Finally, he shuffles things around and gets to you and you are going to come in. Now, when you first get the call from Ben that Houston wants you to come for a visit, what were your thoughts?
Mario Williams: Well, I wasn't thinking "is this serious" or "isn't this serious." I was just thinking that it's a chance. So I told Ben, "I will definitely do it. If they want me to come in, I will come in. It's not going to hurt anything." After I told him that, I was down for it and ready to go.

Not to mention the Colts just blew up their roster and coaching staff. I bet Luck would rather step into Washington right away, though he'll never say it because he knows he's going to Indy. RGIII has definitely dropped the hint that he prefers Washington, though he's stayed PC about it too.

I'd agree the redskins roster is slightly better than the colts but to be honest we aren't that much better. But I'd also agree the redskins prolly make the worst personnel decisions in football. We sign haynesworth we trade haynesworth we get cap hit for messing with his contract. We are most likely going to have 18 million less cap space than the colts next year in addition to this year.
In all fairness the redskins and colts suck right now. Both qbs would prolly rather go to 20 other teams.
And ESPNs report said RG3 didn't want to do a private workout be cause he feels assured he will be in top two picks. Not for the oter bs reasons given before like staying true to his word or helping out his team mates. He just doesn't feel like working out for someone again maybe for injury reasons idk but it's not a good sign. I know most redskins fans are drinking the new colt mcnabb haynesworth arch Lloyd beck kool aide so you will think it's a good thing no matter what. I am excited for griffin but I will never think its a good thing to turn down private workouts of a team who might draft you asks for you for one. Luck didn't Payton manning just concluded a ton of private workouts. No excuse.

Its got nothing to do with drinking the kool aid. That's just a lame way of dismissing other people. People here have given you a dozen decent reasons why it doesn't matter if RGIII does a private workout or not and a half dozen reasons why he flat out SHOULDN'T do the private workout.
Your whole argument seems to be because it offends your personal work ethic or something. That's great and everything but its not an especially convincing argument.

Sorry, I just can't get worked up about this subject. Unlike someone getting hired at McD's, there is a fairly large body of work available for both RGIII and Luck. Both had their own work out/pro days at their colleges, in addition to the work done at the combine. It is readily apparent that our management/coaching staff have long since done their homework on the two QB's, hence the famous/infamous trade for the second pick in the draft. As Allen said after the trade, "we fell in love with two players available in the draft, and one of those will be a great Redskin".
To be honest, we cannot control which QB we get.....the Colts control that aspect. But think the homework has long been completed, and now we just have to wait and see which way the Colts go.
As I have mentioned a while ago, I would not be suprised to learn that Snyder and Irsay (or management) have conversed, and the Skins know exactly who the Colts will take with the first pick. Nothing is being said now to merely raise anticipation for the Draft. May not be true, but it wouldn't suprise me.

With the rookie wage scale in place, there is little or no reason to sign him before they draft him.

I mean, I would watch either way. Even if I knew who we were drafting. But thats me. I have no insight into the average Indy fans mind.
I just don't see any logic in how the Colts are handling this. If they dont know who they're drafting by now, that program is more busted than I realized.
I'm callin BS on this one Mr. Irsay.

That would be uneccessary... Colts and Redskins fans all know that their team is drafting one of two players... and are already worked up. They're going to watch, no matter what Irsay does. Fans of other teams are only interested in the possibilites for their teams. Luck v Griffin means nothing to them... (except in terms of who may be kicking their butts for the next 12 years or so...)
Irsay is just doing what some attention starved owners (we are familiar with one... though his current leash seems pretty effective) do. Seeking attention.
