If I'm a betting man, I'll take the bet the Skins get their WR's in FA but I don't think it's going to be Jackson based on the TYPE of players we've brought in last year especially after DMac and Haynesworth. So no Jackson with his DUI's and contract hold outs in season's past.
I'll have a bet that says Hightower is back next year, for the exact same reason you think Jackson wont be here, his attitude.
Hightower wants to be a Redskin, he's local and vocal, a great blocker which Shanny loves for his play-action, and his experience will help Helu and Royster (who I think may be eased in rather than thrown in next year).
Apparently Hightower's running now so fitness should be proven. I don't think he wants silly money to come back and Pittsburgh will have plenty of other options to chase for RB, so he may not even be approached by them. If he is and they offer big money then fair enough...
I agree about Jackson, no more boat-rockers and I think he would worry Shanny in that way. I have a feeling about Garcon coming here for some reason.

There's a big difference between a market with many suppliers and consumers and a market where there is one supplier. And there are a lot of teams. For your scenario to even have a shot it would have to go down to one customer. For RG3? I seriously doubt that. And even if it did, they could call our bluff and keep the pick. We'd pay a far higher price them them for doing that. We have no QB at all. If they pick Kalil the Vikings have RG3 fall in their lap. And what are we playing your game for? We risk not having a QB at all to try to save a couple of mid round draft picks? Pass on that nonsense. We want him or we don't. Playing games like that will just blow up in our face.

I wonder if we just very strictly go after 1 receiver, or if we have reasonable opportunity to get 2, do we get 2.
Say We sign Colston, which wont cost an arm and a leg, but will become our highest paid receiver, and we also have a chance to get Garcon, do we go after both? They are both different skill set receivers. Colston is a bit more of a slot receiver, where Garcon is that deep threat. Or do we just get 1 and stop there?
I would say only if the situation is 100% correct, meaning the receivers compliment each other well, and we don't have to blow most of our cap space to get them, those 2 names specifically would be great. You pair them with any decent QB and we have a good chance of winning the division.
The RG3 talk is worthless, the browns really control this, they have more to give than we do if they really want to, we cannot compete with 2 first round picks this year... if I was the rams, why wouldn't I take that deal. I already have my franchise QB and I'm trying to upgrade the positions around him now, and I would much rather take 2 first rounds this year, rather than a 1st this year and a 1st next.

Ideally this is what we have.
Our slot is set...Santana Moss with Terrance Austin and BB backing up
X receiver...Gaffney with AA and Niles Paul backing up
Z receiver...Hankerson with AA backing up
They'll probably look to upgrade the X. Can Reggie Wayne still command a double? I don't think so. I think we need to look at VJackson (he'll be tagged), Dwane Bowe (he'll be tagged), Desean Jackson(he's been transitioned), or Colston...in that order. Gaffney would then be moved to the Z with Hankerson backing him and Colston (just have a feeling theyre going to get him) up, and eventually take over the starting job from Gaffney.
