You may be right jm - I hope not

The situation here has changed dramatically the past 2 years - each and every player has to earn his playing time

there is no way that Landry is getting paid too much or a sure thing on this roster come September - those days are OVER

IF Landry is here it's because the coaches know that he's our best option at SS - HOPEFULLY he's playing in B&G

Rich O"halloren on CSN Washington is reporting the Skins have already made the decision to cut Landry loose. That's a shame. When he was healthy in 2010, he was a legitimate def. MVP candidate for the first half of the season.

If he's gone that means Skins will have nothing left from their 2004-2007 first round draft picks

04- Sean Taylor (RIP)
05- Carlos Rogers, Jason Campbell (traded ist round pick from 06)
07- Laron Landry

and other than JC, those were all top 10 picks.

I hope that's not true..
He was killin it before he got hurt and played better then some of the stand ins for him this year. Cut? Wtf he doesn't at least have trade value?
Hate to see him go his connection w the B&G fans WAS huge.. Maybe not the same w the staff tho.
For arguments sake whens the last time he was fined? How much flags? I don't think he drawls a lot personally no more then any other big hitter like Fletcher.

*about Riley I like him a lot and was not knocking him some of those flags fines were bogus.. Even one of the guys he hit thought so. I kill people in Madden w him! Lmao same w dirty thirty for that matter.

He's a FA. We'd have to resign him first, to be able to trade him.

I thought of that jus after I posted. I'd say one year deal him. So technically we didn't CUT him right? Or we aren't trying to negotiate and let him go play the market? Is it possible we hang him out there and hurt his pride w the offers he gets for being injury prone THEN sign him?

If he hits the market, someone WILL take a chance on him... There's simply too much potential to ignore.

His "alternative" cure didn't work last year and it won't work this year. It needs to be surgically repaired and every team knows this. I bet nobody takes him until after the season starts when he pronounces he is healthy like he did this year. How Many times did he tell us he was 100% back from the tendon problem? It wasn't so.

Say goodbye to LL. Seems like another Carlos Rodgers....won't do what's right until he's OFF the team...

Foot specialists say SS Landry needs surgery The Washington Post confirms that foot specialists have informed free agent SS LaRon Landry he "needs" Achilles' tendon surgery.
The Washington Times had a report on this a few weeks ago. Landry doesn't want to have surgery, and he appears to be taking a sizable risk that rest and rehab will fix the heel problems. It's clearly against doctors' orders. The Redskins seem likely to part ways with Landry this offseason, particularly if he's not amenable to accepting a low-risk, short-term contract.

Gotta give the man credit, though. Not having surgery hurts nobody more than it does Landry. Nobody's going to give him more than a prove-it deal and when he does finally get the surgery, chances are he'll miss far more time than he would have if he'd gotten it done in December.

If he really wanted to stick it to the Skins he would have pulled a Shawne Merriman, insisted he was fine all offseason last year, then showed up to camp before going under the knife and out for the year.

Maybe in another shirt he'll show an interest in being anything other than Roy Williams 2.0, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Since I had my Achilles injury, I never stop grinding...I’m totally dedicated in getting back, getting what I deserve out of the game, win ball games and being one of the elite guys on our team.

That is the same treatment he did last year that did not heal his tendon.

I can understand why he doesn't want surgery. He might be better off if he does but surgery would take away from some of his speed and agility I would think. This guy is a health nut.

I think its possible if he did get the surgery hed never trust it again. I only had my ACL McL blah blah blah torn but still don't trust it. I can run but fear a cut a I assume NFL players (even w stricter and more sport specific rehab) have the same problems.
This year his Achilles wasn't the whole problem. With otas and a full preseason his rehab will be very different then last year and may prove to be all that was needed. A strict rehab involving all his leg muscles and keeping him progressing vs last year who knows what he did during the lock out right?
I have high hopes for dirty thirty and wish him the most success w the stem cells. I know some bills were passed but not sure of the extent. Is his procedure being done in the US? Hopefully in the year since the technology has been advanced with more science and experimental research.

You should say "had" high hopes... because this train ain't going nowhere.

I understand that Landry has a problem with spurs, that continuously abrade, irritate, and damage his Achilles. Stem cells may speed the recovery of the tendon (I suspect not... it's more likely that he's supporting a charlatan...), but they will do nothing to remove the spurs (which, in fact, are just as likely to continue to grow from "stem cell" treatment). Frankly, I think he's a bone head.

Have only heard suspicion.. Idk.... If f its a given that people on a board can figure out and he is blatantly going against professional Doctors then ya he is a bone head. If he wishes to heal his tendon as you said w stem cells THEN get the bone spurs dealt with then maybe he isn't such a bone head. What surgery did the "post" say he turned down and what surgery does he NEED? Repairing a tendon or ligament is a total different story. Cleaning up some bone spurs isn't nearly as invasive nor as hard to recover from.

Who knows everything about the situation? HIM. And I still HAVE hope HE makes the right call and knocks the bajesus out of the pukes and all wr/rb we play next year. 2 years ago he was a fan favorite.. Now we are ready to wash our hands of him? Guess that's the way of the NFL but dang give him AND CC a chance!

This isn't about hating on Landry. I LOVE the way he plays up.

To your postulation... why would you first heal your tendon... then cut it up to remove the spurs? Think about that for a second. And, you are right... cleaning up the spurs isn't as traumatic as the repair for a torn achilles... but it's not nearly as minor as lancing a boil, either. It does cause damage to the tendon that must heal. If he has the surgery, he probably won't be ready next season (tendons are notoriously slow to heal)... he knows this... knew it last year... what do YOU think is going on here?

The man is looking to get paid (I can't blame him). But, he's used up his collateral. Surgery kills any chance, so he won't have it. Think this through... He rolled the dice last year, when he decided to not have surgery... Had he guessed right, and he had come back in the fall at 100%, there was every reason to think that he'd be bustin heads at a career rate. That's why he declined the surgery last year... If he can't get a contract this year because he has the surgery, he's stuck trying to convince some team that they should take a chance on him... so, he's rolling the dice again.

This is already costing him millions... if he misses a year, with NO team, he's totally screwed... he knows this. Someone may take a chance on him... but it's going to be hugely incentive laced... and he isn't likely to get paid.

BTW... I know a bit about achilles injuries... you can trust me or not... I don't care. Personally, I doubt he plays next fall... with, or without the surgery... With it, he will be recovering... with out it... he's a blown tendon, waiting to happen... I'd be happy to be wrong... but...

Frankly, I'd love to see him stay here... but, he's not doing himself or the team any good right now.

Never said YOU were hating or that you are wrong at all.

I think w modern day technology bone spurs can me ground down with tiny instruments cameras etc much like how my acl was completely removed before using grafts from my hamstring.
I don't know the procedure but don't see how they'd damage the tendon.. No great Dr or stack of money can get the procedure done w out doing so?
Haven't seen his MRI or any xrays but someone must have him believing he IS doing the right thing for the future. I hope he is
