I'll be thrilled when they're playing for the playoffs and not draft picks....
Then there's no reason for you to watch the rest of the season, nor post on this board until next season.
See ya next year!

Sure there is. I'm still a Skins fan. Makes no never-mind how disgruntled...

"Disgruntled" isn't really the right word for it at this point . . .

No fan who trashes his team is a real fan
There are many here who are really disapointed with the progress but we don't lose sight of the fact that this franchise is getting better despite the losses AND we don't trash our team
You might think you're a fan but if you trash your team you're showing that you're not
Frustration is one thing, trashing your team is not how real fans behave

Maybe we should clarify "trashing." To me, trashing your team would be criticizing them when they don't deserve it. There have been very few times over the last 20 years when this team hasn't deserved criticism...and lots of it...

We beat the 11th ranked defense in the league right now. Grossman played decent to my surprise. If you took away the two INTS, he played superb. I'd love to see Grossman continue to play like that, but we all know who's lurking around the corner...Bad Rex. I loved the way Helu got the bulk of the carries and finally got his chance to show what he can do. He's definitely the offensive player of the game, IMO. Defense looked great again, and Hall finally got a pick! There is no reason to be mad or disappointed about this game.

Does anyone know why Torrain didn't play? That guy is a beast!

You're being sarcastic, right?
I don't care if these late season wins screw up our draft position or not. I'll cry about that in April. I freaking love watching the Skins win, even against a terrible Seattle team. Helu was awesome - I know a lot of people on the board were hoping to see him featured. And I thought Perry Riley had a great game too.
I had two questions though: one, why was that game so nasty to begin with? Just seemed kind of weird, more like we were playing the Giants or Eagles or something.
Also, I was wondering about Grossman's first INT. Jim Mora was on the tv complaining about what a terrible decision that pass was. (It was a deep pass down the middle of the field.) Doesn't Kyle just dial up those shots though? I kinda thought Shanahan says, let's take a deep shot. They send the WR long, the QB throws it down the field and the WR is supposed to go get it. It wasn't a great pass and the WR didn't make a good play on it either way, but I don't really understand where the decision making part plays into it.

Helu's Rushing Stats:
23/108 yds, 4.7 average 1 TD
Helu's Receiving Stats:
7/54 7.7 average
I've been saying for weeks on here and BMitchLive that this offense isn't going to work until Helu gets the bulk of the carries. He's the only RB who had been productive after Hightowers injury. While he may have missed a block or two, his offensive production makes up for all the mistakes. He had a hell of a day yesterday but had he have made a few more cuts his day would've been HUGE.
WTG Helu. Way to bring it.

It's early to be saying this, but perhaps Helu could be the every down back next year and Hightower could return to the role he had in Arizona: 3rd downs, catching, etc.?

The first INT shouldn't have been. The defender made illegal contact with the receiver (past 5 yards) before making the pick. The result of the play should have been a 1st down for the Skins. The refs spotted the Seahawks their first 10 points.

You could also make the argument that the 2nd INT was as good as a punt.

Except you don't usually punt on 2nd down.

Though, if you did, it would be exactly as crappy as that INT!

No, I was being serious. Whenever I've seen Torrain play, he runs tough and is difficult to bring down. Helu is good, but Torrain is too....

A Stat that matters:
Helu - 4.8 ypr
Torrain - 3.5 ypr
Helu - 7 ypc
Torrain - 4.8 ypc

I dunno man, maybe you only saw the St. Louis game this year? His last six games:
5 carries 4 yards
10 carries 20 yards
1 carry 2 yards
8 carries 14 yards
2 carries -5 yards
10 carries 22 yards
The only reason is YPC is as high as 3.5 is is that he racked up 135 yards against the Rams. After that he's averaging 1.6 YPC. He's apparently not
that difficult to bring down.
In all fairness, I bet Hightower's stats before he was injured weren't much more impressive. [/i]

That's pretty much the only stat that matters to me. How effectively they move the ball.

A lot of us have rightly taken this result with a grain of salt because it was the Seahawks. Anybody giving the Skins a little more credit after seeing Seattle destroy the Eagles last night?

Yep.. me!!!
win out and we're 9-7
lose to the PATS only and we're 8-8
Then I'll laugh at everyone who said suck for luck and meet them in smack to discuss further.

Don't know if you ever got this question answered - The Skins always meet at mid field before going back into the lockerroom after the warm ups - in Seattle, they did it on the Seahawk helmet logo (Did did it on the Dallas star in Dallas - it is always at midfield where the Skins meet). The Seahawks took umbrage over it and it was on.
