Why is it when anyone responds to your posts, it automatically means they care about what you believe, but your responding to their posts doesn't mean you care what they believe?Redskins_Fanatic wrote:CT, what makes you think that I concern myself with whether or not any of you care about what I believe? Only 3 people on this planet that I care about.... ME, MYSELF, and I.
Fair enough. I've read so many of those at this point my eyes glaze over. But I still think you're over complicating it. A winning culture for a team of 50 people isn't something you get with one player and turn on and off. It's a culture you develop over time and you don't get there by losing on purpose.Red_One43 wrote:Red_One43 wrote:KazooSkinsFan wrote:You play the game to win. How about us fans?To win or not to win? ]There is no question! "Just Win, Baby!" "You play to win the game!! AND as a fan, you want your team to just win, baby! You want your team just play to win the game! Let all the draft choice stuff settle itself itself on the field, fans pull for your team to win.

Three questions:Redskins_Fanatic wrote:Winning brings no more joy to me than my car starting when I turn the key in the morning. It is the EXPECTED RESULT. If you're getting giddy over a win (other than the Super Bowl), your expectations are too low.
Sports are not about MONEY in my mind. They're about WINNING. If you're focused on the money, you're focused on the wrong thing.
There is no contradiction there, Deadskins. Sports are about winning, and winning only. Always have been and always will be. That is why winning is the expected result. If you do not believe you have a chance to win, the smart team STAYS HOME and does not bother wasting their time or the time of their fans.Deadskins wrote:1. Can you really not see the contradiction in your own words?
Winning is the expected result. TOTAL DOMINATION is what one should truly be striving for when one engages in any form of competition.Deadskins wrote:2. If winning is the expected result, how can your expectations be too low?
Winning without the possiblitiy of losing is actually a lot of fun. It provides the opportunity to truly see the fear and pain in your opponent's eyes. To see them totally defeated. I had that opportunity on a number of occasions working with the football team at the high school I attended, and came to realize the sheer and utter pleasure in knowing that you had won the game simply by showing up.Deadskins wrote:3. Why bother following any team at all, if winning every game is the expected result? There is nowhere to go but down. Winning without the possibility of losing seems kinda boring to me.
Apparently not, Deadskins.Deadskins wrote:You don't get it and you never will.
Why does there have to be a "better than expected" result, Deadskins? Obviously in some cases there is, but in many cases there really isn't any need for a situation where a "better than expected" result exists.Deadskins wrote:BTW your "car starting" analogy sucks. If your car starting is the expected result (nothing to get pumped about), what is the better than expected result? Like I said, your way has nowhere to go but down, which is why you are always dissapointed.
My post was a play on words (To Be or Not to Be) response to those Redskin fans who say that we should lose games to get a better draft position. I believe my post got its point across to its intended audience. Nt saying it changed minds, but it got it's point across. Didn't it feel good to win another game? Not taking about culture, but just as a fan of the Redskins cherishing the winning feeling.KazooSkinsFan wrote:Fair enough. I've read so many of those at this point my eyes glaze over.
