The Redskins field a playoff-caliber defense every single year, and every single year, that playoff caliber defense gets worn down and eventually defeated by bad offense, kicking, and coaching.

There isn't another team in the league that seemingly goes year after year after year with ZERO PLAYMAKERS ON OFFENSE even though every year it knows this is what it needs.

This is not the game to praise the defense and nfh the qb.
Rex was defiantly not the reason they lost last night. Hw had maybe there or four bad passes all game. Romo had many more bad passes than Rex did. Gaffney had almost as many dropped third down catches as Rex had bad passes.

The defense played their normal game. Started out bad, let the other team get two scores, then played well during the middle of the game, but when the team needed them the most they gave up a TD drive in the fourth 1/4 and everyone new once GaNO Missed that FG the D was going to let the Cowgirls get into FG range.

And they did!

No blame this one on GaNO, Gaffney (stats say he had a good game but he dropped WAY too many 3rd down passes), Davis (fumble), and D Young (stood around watching Banks on Banks' last long return. He needed to get down field and block the punter).

It's safe to say that Good Rex will not be returning for the remainder of the season. Our secondary SUCKS. People keep talking about how our defense has improved, and to an extent it has, but we need some better CBs. And may I ask why Kyle thought it was another bright idea to start Torain and not utilize Helu?

Most of your post is just stating the obvious. Nothing new there. I do take exception to your last statement. Over the last 14 games in the series, the Cowboys have won 8. That's not "consistently" coming out on top, that's only slightly better than a coin flip even though the Cowboys have been the more talented team over that stretch.

It's all a moot point anyway, because nobody in the NFC will go into Green Bay and win a playoff game this year. The Cowboys will win 8-10 games, and will either miss the playoffs or lose early. They won't have the draft position or cap room to get much better next year. The Romo era has "peaked", and a decline (not that there's far to go) is imminent, so have fun with that, chief.

Are you really that satisfied with eking out a gift win over an injury-plagued team that lacks NFL-caliber talent on many offensive positions and has been a league-wide doormat for over a month?

I'm excited about getting Barkley. Luck isn't the only great quarterback out there. If necessary, we should even trade up to get him. He's that good.

Hmm. I won't dispute your point about QBs, but that's been pretty well hashed out.

Coaches on the other hand . . . Snyder had Gibbs retire on him, and nobody wanted to enter our dysfunctional organization. Shanahan brought enough prestige to break up the Dumb & Dumber show. Right now there are plenty of fans unhappy with Kyle, so I guess we'll see what happens there.

But "bad coaches"? Get back to me when Dallas has a good one. What we've got is as good as anything Dallas has had since Jimmy Johnson. The great ones are not easy to come by.

As it stands right now, there are 4 other teams with worse records than ours. And 3 out of those 4 (Rams, Panthers, Vikings) already have young QBs on their roster. I'm sure the Colts will take Luck, then we'll most likely have the remainder of the QB class to pick from.

I really like Griffin. So many awesome things about him. He might be the best athlete in the NCAA in any sport and he's got a really good head on his shoulders.

Some stuff:

Football
Griffin attended Copperas Cove High School, where he was a three-sport star in basketball, football, and track. He started at quarterback for two seasons. During his junior season, he passed for 2,001 yards and 25 touchdowns with two interceptions, while compiling 876 rushing yards for 8 touchdowns. He received first-team All-District 16-4A honors after the season. As a senior, he recorded 1,285 rushing yards, posting 24 touchdowns, and also passed 1,356 yards for 16 touchdowns with seven interceptions. In his senior season Copperas Cove finished with a record of 13–2, and lost in the championship game of the 2007 Class 4A Division I state playoffs. Over the two seasons, he rushed for a total of 2,161 yards and 32 touchdowns, while passing for 3,357 yards and 41 touchdowns with nine interceptions.

Track
In track, he broke state records for the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles. He ran the 110-meter hurdles in 13.55 seconds, and the 300-meter hurdles in 35.33 seconds. The 300-hurdles time was one-hundredth of a second short of breaking the national high school record. He was also a gold medalist in the 110 and 400-meter hurdles on the AAU track and field circuit. He sprinted 13.46 in the 110-meter hurdles and 49.56 in the 400-meter hurdles as a junior in high school. In 2007, as a junior, he was rated the No. 1 high school 400-meter immediate hurdler in the country, and was tied at No. 1 for the 110-meter sprint hurdler in the nation. Also as a junior, he received the Gatorade Texas Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year award.

Scouting Report (just read below or take link for text plus video)
http://nflsfuture.com/robert-griffin-ii ... ng-report/

Is it possible to play any better than Robert Griffin III is playing at the moment?

Last season, we watched as Cam Newton destroyed opponents on his way to a Heisman, National Championship, and #1 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Newton was the most dynamic player in college football and even he didn’t amass the numbers or the level of domination that RGIII is throwing up on opponents.

With RGIII’s outburst have come the Cam Newton comparisons. The only comparable with Newton is his meteoric rise up draft boards. RGIII is a dean’s list student that earned his degree in Political Science in three years and is currently working on his master’s in communications. RGIII is a mixture of smarts, world class athleticism, and arm talent that are not comparable to anyone. The closest comparison to RGIII is not Cam Newton or Mike Vick but more of a Steve Young (with twice the speed).

RGIII will not take over the number one slot in the 2012 NFL Draft from Andrew Luck. I will, however, make an argument for RGIII to unseat Matt Barkley and Landry Jones for the second QB off the board come April.

Here’s a breakdown of the skills that will make Robert Griffin III a top 5 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Arm Strength

RGIII doesn’t have Mike Vick’s arm strength but can make any and every throw on the field. He will have no problem throwing the deep out from the far hash into a tight window. In addition to pure arm strength, RGIII can throw the ball down the field with accuracy from any spot on the field. You won’t see receivers, and he has a good one with speed, outrunning his arm.

Accuracy

RGIII would stand out in this area compared to Vick or Newton coming out of college. He leads the NCAA in completion percentage at 85% currently. Aside from the numbers, RGIII is throwing receivers to spots much like a good NFL QB would do after they have mastered an offense. His accuracy is impeccable and probably the single most important reason why he has taken a giant leap in the 2012 NFL Draft prospect rankings.

Mechanics

Griffin has a perfect over-the-top throwing motion and does a great job setting his feet and transferring weight. Usually, guys that are naturally runners struggle with the feet side of the throwing motion but RGIII has picture perfect throwing balance and weight transfer that help with his upper body.

Pocket Awareness

Hard to argue against a guy that has taken two sacks all year but if there’s an area to nitpick this would be it. He has a great sense for oncoming blitzers but tends to hold onto the ball when nothing is there. He will need to learn to get rid of the ball rather than take unnecessary hits in the NFL. Mike Vick is currently learning this the hard way. It’s tough teaching this because it’s part of what makes these guys great.

Athleticism

RGIII was a semifinalist at the Olympic Trials in the 400 hurdles following high school. He’s a nightmare for defenses in space with his speed and agility. He’s the closest thing to Mike Vick that we have seen coming out of college and should run in the low 4.4’s at the Combine. More importantly than his raw speed, is his ability to throw on the run. What makes RGIII so dangerous is that he is always looking downfield for open receivers. Teams have to game plan for his athleticism but also his ability to throw on the run which makes him a danger that we haven’t seen. Cam Newton is good at keeping his eyes downfield and Mike Vick has learned this skill over time but RGIII is better than either at keeping teams honest with this ability.

Intangibles

As I mentioned, RGIII is a dean’s list student but also a student of the game. Teammates have talked about his work ethic in the film room and leadership abilities. He is further ahead than Vick or Newton were on the mental side of the game.

In most normal years, without Andrew Luck, RGIII would be talked about as a candidate for the number one pick in the NFL Draft. Put all the above attributes together and you have a complete package that is a top 5 lock in the 2012 NFL Draft.

I was looking at the same exact draft situation earlier and concur with what you are saying. We should have a good chance, as long as we continue to lose or the other teams around us in the draft order win, to get a top notch prospect. I mean Alex Smith went first overall in the same draft that Rodgers did and look who is far and away the better quarterback. Having the "sure fire pick," well, lets just say more times than not there is a misfire. Luck may or may not be the answer just like the other guys in the draft.

These guys can draft any QB they want as long as he becomes a really good QB

we don't need "the best" QB - we need a good QB that can become really good

they need to bring in more players that will help the offense

Kyle needs to have a major upgrade too

I'd be happy with Barkley or Landry Jones. I give Jones the slight edge, but I think both will be very good NFL quarterbacks.
