This will be the first time in my life that i will not pay attention to the Redskins game. I'm not bailing for good, 1 day, just to avoid the pain of Wrecks giving the game away

Where are these reports that the locker room wants Wrecks to start? The only thing I've heard was that Moss and others didn't think they should have benched Wrecks after one bad game.
Back on topic, how short is Grossman's leash? If he throws 3-4 INTS do they yank him and insert Beck? I have a good feeling something like this is right around the corner and we become even more of a national laughingstock.

I was listening to the pre-game on the radio last weekend before the Dolphins game and that is what Doc said. I definitely heard Grant Paulsen say the same thing this week on the radio. Sorry I don't have links to print on it or anything.
I think the point they made was not that the players all think Beck sucks or anything. I remember Doc saying that Beck needed to prove to the team that he can get it done, just like he needs to show the fans, and he has not been able to do that yet.
It seems understandable from the players' perspective. The cards are stacked against them as it is with the injuries and everything. Throwing Beck into the mix may just be making their jobs that much harder.
Btw I have nothing against Beck. I hope he gets a full offseason this spring and a chance to show what he can do again when the team is healthy. Its an almost impossible situation for him right now.

True dat beck hasn't had the "golden opportunity" so much.. Starts 4 games for one of the worst teams in history rides the pine the starts for a team that's been riddled w injuries no depth and rookies after a lock out season. Sucky

I'm glad we're starting Grossman. At least with him we've got the chance to complete a pass for more than 10 yards.
I mean, sure, he'll take a horrible sack on 3rd down to lose 20 yards and put us out of field goal range . . . and sure, he's good for 3-4 INTs per game . . . and sure, one cannot have confidence that he'll put a good drive together.
Still, it's an improvement over Beck. I guess.
How sad that this is what we have to deal with.

So I'm guessing by playing Rex, the players know they'll have it easy because he'll keep throwing to the other team?

In all seriousness though, Shanahan made it seem that when Jamaal Brown went down is when he decided to bring in Rex based off his experience. He's also said that the only way to gain experience in the NFL is during actual gametime situations. How many horrid Wrecks performances are Skins fans going to be forced to watch before Shanahan benches him again and makes up another excuse?

If you have anyone from Dallas on your fantasy roster, start them this week!

Shan is full of it StorminMormon86... If he said he made a mistake staking his rep on both of these QBs then we would be happy for his honesty. What about the team? I think you have an infatuation with Beck. I actually really wanted Rex to succeed at the beginning of the season and I thought he would. If I can admit I was wrong about him, then why can't you let go?
In my mind and I am no coach (so I leave this up to the experts) I go with someone that can potentially win a game. Beck has never won in the NFL. He is a nice guy and a old project. We now know both of them suck. If Beck actually got the experience needed; he would already be getting up there in age. Hell, he is older than Rex. If I was coach I would play the 3rd stringer on PS. What have you got to lose? He might have won some games and not thrown picks like both Rex and Beck has.
There is always next year. Keep your chin up Stormin... Next year if we get a rookie, then we still have to wait and go through growing pains more than likely. It is going to be a long time before we are a real threat.

I hate to say this but Rex does give us the best chance to win.
By the way, neither of the picks against the Fins were on Rex.
Of course everyone agrees that Hankerson falling down on the route wasn't rex's fault.
When he threw that pick down near the goal line and it looked like he threw it straight to the LB, there was a reason for that. Gaffney made a cut indicating a slant that would have taken him in front of the LB, but them for no particular reason he cut off the slant and took his route behind the LB.
Both were 100% on the WRs!

Amen brother. Rex still does bone headed mistakes and he hasn't proved that he is a true QB yet. He is the better of the two but he is just Rex and that is all.

Let go of what? That I'm forced to watch this loser still stand behind center week after week? First and foremost I want this team to win and secondly I want them to develop into contenders. We know Rex is not going to get better or develop and to ride the season out with him is a mistake. I am not infatuated with John Beck, I just really really cannot stand the play of Rex Grossman. For weeks it was stated that the D needs to step up and get turnovers to help the "conservative" offense (under Beck) which they obviously didn't do, and when they did step up against the Fins (under Grossman) you saw what happened. I guess the biggest reason I'm upset over the switch back to Wrecks is because we'll have to go through all of this crap again next year. Despite what others have stated I did not think we got enough out of Beck to see his "ceiling". We know Rex's. He's garbage. Not that Beck did anything to prove he was worthy, but I still don't think he had a fair shake. If we rode the season out with him, he may have had time to "develop" and show us his ceiling. Now that we're stuck with Wrecks, when we get a young QB we'll have to go through all of these "growing pains" again next year.

Rex is a year older than Beck, but I guess that really doesn't matter since both are in their thirties. If you want someone to win a game why stick with Grossman after the Miami game? A 30th ranked defense and we couldn't even score a TD on them. And at least there's a TD for every one of Beck's picks. Grossman has a 1:8 TD to INT ratio in the last three games.

A good article to read about why Shan put Rex in.

Here's an even better article/blog, calling out the putrid playcalling of Kyle Shanahan in the games that Beck was the starter:

Listen to what Kyle says....
http://www.redskins.com/media-gallery/v ... 5dba905c2a
Hope this links works...About 3/4 of the way down you will hear. I wish I could be more accurate but I am using a really slow 3G network. I live in horse country. Kyle explains why its both game plan and what both QBs can do. You might not like it but it is what I see. I hope this clears up the confusion a little and you can see why they think Beck is a project. Rex sucks but he can get more out of what we have my Redskin brother. Don't fret. Next year we will still suck but make a better run.

I
really hope you're right my friend. As for this Dallas game, am I the only one that's like "meh" for the whole deal? I'm usually pumped for ANY division rival game but for the first time I can't get into it.

Missing so many players their options are limited in the middle of the season.

I mean from the QB position. We started this year with the same 2 guys and were told that we could win with either one. We had a "neck & neck" battle in the preseason that Rex supposedly won. Then we benched Rex, started Beck--sucked--went back to Rex, and sucked some more.
If we continue to suck with Rex, then what? Just suck all the way out? Or go back to Beck--realize he sucks, and then just try to suck a little less each week? Or maybe he tells us that Rex's cardiovascular fitness is no good, and Beck doesn't practice hard enough, then give Johnathan Crompton a shot? Or maybe we pull a trade--and send next year's 4th to the Raiders for Jason Campbell?? Kinda like a do-over. Like hey, my bad--we suck! I was wrong, I mean, I wasn't
wrong. I do think Campbell sucks. But, he sucks a lot less than McNabb, Grossman & Beck who I believed didn't suck but actually do really suck!

We need a QB but we MUST find a way to not only have a decent O line but some decent depth as well
No QB can play or execute very well without a decent line
the NFL today is all about substituting players - that is why you see so many offenses going to the no huddle
