Shanahan needs to stop caving into fan pressure and (if it's true) pressure from the locker room. You stick with a guy who is still unknown for the rest of the season (since it's over with anyway) who has outplayed the PROVEN turnover machine since all of the key injuries have taken place.
I see zero evidence that Shannahan is "caving into" pressure. You got any evidence for that other then having pulled it out of your posterior?

The fans bitched about Grossman, he inserted Beck. They bitched about Beck, he inserted Grossman. They bitched about not throwing dump passes and checkdowns, they did that ad naseum agains the 49ers.

So...pretty much fans are dumb? I agree.

Does Shanny strike you as someone who caves in to the public; whether it be the media or the fans? NFW. Now, if the receivers are telling him that Grossman is clearly better then the coach has to listen and respect those comments. At the end of the day neither of these QBs is worth arguing about.

Hmm...Grossman sucks, try Beck, wow, he's not playing well start Grossman.
Obviously the issue is...fan pressure...

It will and should be Grossman. But if we have an O-line next year, I'd rather go with Beck if my only other choice is still Grossman.
I think you nailed it man.

Let me clarify. I do not think Shanahan makes any decisions due to what the fans want. But I do think he's stubborn enough to not want the fans to not consider him an offensive "genius" to the point where he's willing to panic and start grasping at straws in order to save his reputation.

He is grasping at straws because he doesn't start Beck? I truly believe it doesn't matter who we start. We would be lucky to win a game the rest of the year. Maybe if Moss can come back and contribute we might have a slim chance. If it is true what some people are saying then, Shan is trying not to divide the locker room. I tried to find links from

ey, Doc Walker, Moss and one other reporter that has said in private some players do not believe in Beck. I would really have to dig through the archives but with my internet connection I wont spend the time. Maybe you read the same? If you did then you have your answer.

You don't think Shanahan is grasping at straws yet? Benches Grossman for Beck then benches Beck for Grossman. Releases Stallworth now he's resigned. Starts Helu one week then starts Torain next week. Switches around the O-Line week by week. I'd say he has to grasp at straws because of all of the injuries that has plagued this team. But he doesn't have to lie with a straight face when he says Grossman gives us the best chance to win.
