and, it's always... "for now"... just some "for nows" are longer than others... though, a career that goes longer than 3 years in the NFL is the exception.

How long has Reed played?

Yeah... he's bad.

Lighten up. Reed plays for the Redskins so he's not that bad. But, he's not that good either. If you think he is, then. Well. Dude.

Reed Doughty is Starship "We Built This City" bad.

Reed Doughty is Milli Vanilli bad.

Reed Doughty is Vanilla Ice bad.

Reed Doughty is old school Tampa Bay Bucs creamsicle uniform bad.

These are all "not bad" things. I'm confused. :hmm:

Reed isn't terrible, he's marginally average, but not terrible. I think he was ready to go for the cards game but waited for Dallas week, kudos I say. I'm curious how different the blitz schemes will be with him in there.

Now...I'm all for tuff plays etc...but I never wish injury on players (not even Romo). Just play tuff and see what happens.

And, I think you are deliberately missing the point. Doughty is not fast. But, he is an exceptional tackler, and almost always where he needs to be. There is a reason that he has more than his share of tackles, and, despite a lack of raw talent, somehow manages to make the team over far more athletic players. I am smart enough to know that he's not "all that", but I also know that it is grossly unfair to belittle a man who has worked his ass off to get where he is, and who has made a living by playing over his head.

He should be considered a hero by every blue collar fan of the Redskins...

maybe that doesn't include you... but it sure does me.

+1 If he's healthy this is a no brainer.

Reed makes the team because he is a good Special Teams player, an extremely hard worker, and a smart player. None of that matters when he's matched up on Dez Bryant though. #nobrainer

I like Reed D. He's playing SS, that is a position that mostly focuses on the run and covering tight ends. It is NOT fair to say he can't cover a #1 WR. Heck, I love Landry but he can't cover top tier WRs either.

Doughty is a great run stopper and that is what we should gauge him on, not covering WRs.

Jason Witten isn't a WR, but I'd still prefer to have #30 matched up with him.

If a safety is on an island with a WR, it's a coaching blunder.

Or Ed Reed

The only way that Landry is playing is if the coaches think he's fully fit and ready to go

it does not matter how good or bad Reed is or if we had no safety at all except Landry - the ONLY way he's getting on the field is if the coaches put him out there

they are NOT doing that unless he's fully ready to go - bank it

I really hope he's ready to play - he will be a force with this defense

Yeah, we squeaked by on a defensive TD and a penalty. Still, we didn't play very well. And Dallas started 1-7, so it isn't like we beat a good team. I'm talking about the Redskins making a good showing in prime time; something to show the casual fan that the Skins are not a team to be taken lightly.

Most safeties in the league are not that good. You'll find a reed doughty on each team. Not like the 90s when you had at least 10 pro bowl caliber safeties. Infact they use to be bigger than the WRs back in the day.

Wow, you prefer our starter over the reserve who's playing because he's out. Good point...

Beating Dallas in prime time is a good showing if they entered the game 0-15.

Beating Dallas is ALWAYS a priority for the Redskins

I'm not sure which W is more important, beating the Cowboys or beating the Giants

Winning against the pukes on Monday night to go 3-0 is going to piss a lot of fans off, BIG TIME

there will still be "haters" and we're still a work in progress but this would be a really great win

The Giants. The pukes were 6-10 last year, the gnats 10-6. Besides, I've hated the gnats since before the pukes existed.

In addition to beating the Cowboys, going up 2 games in the division would be huge.

Honestly - I would rather Romo play the whole year than Kitna. Romo is obviousley better than Kitna but he does made terrible decisions that costs his team wins. Kitna does not.
