Sure he had a hard time shaking his defender. He usually had the #1 corner playing him (we put Champ on him everytime). But he shouldn't be the #1 receiver. At best he's #2 and shouldn't draw the same kind of attention here as he did in Philly.

construction."
Thrash when used will be in a 3 receiver set and lining up as our #3...so I think he will have an easier time gaining seperation. I still think that his primary role will be on Special Teams and that Chad Mortons days are numbered. How much do we still owe Morton of his signing bonus? I like Chad but he is earning quite a bit of money to field punts and return kickoffs. We already have a speedy scat back in Trung so I dont see much need for him on offense. Dont know...maybe if he has a break out year like Dante Hall had last year or even close he would be worth the kind of money he is making.
On another note: Due to his signing bonus what is Jeremiah Trotters cap hit next year?

I think it's a great move for a Coach that wants to show his players to way to play the game. Thrash was a locker room guy, and always at the complex, and always in the weight room. Like Coles. He'll be fine at depth at WR, and when put with Chad Morton will give us great returners that Have to be kicked too. Field position wins games in the NFL.
He's not a star player, but he will be a great Redskin. That's what Gibbs wants. Someone that will show people what work ethic can do for you.

Touchdown, Washington Redskins...
I'm opposed to the Thrash signing, but I can see why they did it. He'll back up Morton on punts and he'll be next to Morton on kickoffs. He's not a bad return guy but never should've been a #1 receiver in Philly. Chances are he'll be moved to the slot, DMac will be our #2, Coles #1 and Gardner will get traded for a 2nd or 3rd rounder. Many people think that's high, but he had 71 catches for 1006 yards and 8 TDs when he was our #1 WR in 2002. Someone will give up a decent pick for those numbers...

Thrash is coming over for special teams. Right now he would most likely be the 5th reciever on the depth chart.
He is definitely not a starting WR on this team. But he is a good player and I bet we'll see him make some big plays next year. Having Thrash and Morton returning kickoffs opens up a lot of options.
I think next year will be the first year in quite a while that we will actually be pretty good on special teams.

Perhaps we're missing the boat on the Thrash deal entirely. Could this be another sign-and-trade deal for more picks in the 2004 draft???? That would be really slick. Of course, I would not be hurt by seeing Rod traded to make room for Thrash, a hard worker. I'm impressed by the fact that his family, his roots, are still in Sterling, VA.
Back and better than ever!
