Shanahan disagrees w McNabb's feelings that handling of his benching was unprofessional because he believes he did everything right.

McNabb always says the right things to the media. He is very good and portraying himself as innocent. Reports of his attitude in practice and on the field have never matched up to how he is portrayed through interviews and quotes.

McNabb signed a contract that gave the Redskins all the leverage because he had to. He is not nearly as sought after as everyone thinks he is. That was the best deal he was going to get from anywhere.

McNabb does not burn bridges and is actually a very good businessman. He always said he wanted to stay in Philly as well. What he says does not always align with the reality of what he wants and feels.

First thing: You haven't seen the quotes because they haven't been made. Second thing: It might not be a stretch to think he would be upset but if he doesn't say he is, it isn't news it's just unsupported BS.

OK. That leads me to believe one of two things: Either Snyder has determined he should just bite his tongue and trust Shanahan regardless of what appears to have been a massive screwup, or Snyder privately questioned Shanahan, in which case Shanahan would not come out and say that he went directly against his team owners wishes. I am actually more inclined to believe the first. Snyder may be absolutely livid but biting his tongue. I also think this will shorten Snyder's leash on Shanahan. He isn't exactly known for his patience to begin with. It should be interesting to see how much this team changes between January and September of next year.
