Shanahan disagrees w McNabb's feelings that handling of his benching was unprofessional because he believes he did everything right.
He said / He said. Difference of opinion. Many seem to think Shanahan's respect is a one way street. McNabb is not alone in that thought.

Shanahan insists that he clearly informed McNabb he would be No. 3 QB: "I'm not sure how that got misinterpreted."
McNabb says he was informed by Shanahan on Friday. He says he heard it on ESPN Thursday.

Shanahan says "I didn't talk to anybody" before he told McNabb says "I don't know how that's possible" on how 5 said he didn't know role
See above.

Am I reading this correctly? Shanahan says he doesn't get into what McNabb does in practice? Meaning he doesn't get into it with the media? Or he doesn't pay any attention to how McNabb practices?

Also, figure that he signed the contract after he really got "dissed" - you know, being pulled in the last two minutes of the Lions game. I mean which is worse for a starting QB - being pulled in the last two minutes with the game on the line or being told in the hall way you are not starting next game? For whatever his reason or reasons, McNabb really wants to stay here.
McNabb always says the right things to the media. He is very good and portraying himself as innocent. Reports of his attitude in practice and on the field have never matched up to how he is portrayed through interviews and quotes.
McNabb signed a contract that gave the Redskins all the leverage because he had to. He is not nearly as sought after as everyone thinks he is. That was the best deal he was going to get from anywhere.
McNabb does not burn bridges and is actually a very good businessman. He always said he wanted to stay in Philly as well. What he says does not always align with the reality of what he wants and feels.

Countertrey - they were talking about that this morning on the Tony Kornheiser show. Kornheiser was saying that that is the perception of McNabb by some in the NFL.

Who are "some?" He's only been with two teams in 11 years.

Two things: I haven't seen a quote from Daniel M. Snyder saying he is behind the decision to bench McNabb, and it isn't much of a stretch to think he might be a little perturbed about benching a player they gave up two draft picks to obtain. Major sports outlet media may enjoy their sensationalistic tabloid reporting as much as The American Press does but it doesn't seem as though sensationalism is necessary here.
First thing: You haven't seen the quotes because they haven't been made. Second thing: It might not be a stretch to think he would be upset but if he doesn't say he is, it isn't news it's just unsupported BS.

Kornheiser? Glazier? Jenkins? JLC? Some in the NFL?
Seriously?

McNabb was told on Thursday, but says he had already heard the news....
During his weekly radio show Tuesday on ESPN 980, McNabb expressed frustration with two parts of Shanahan's decision: That Shanahan did not inform him until Thursday that he had been benched in favor of former backup Rex Grossman and that information was leaked to the media before Shanahan told him about the move.

Shanny was asked if McNabb ran the scout team today or not.

On part one, what I read was that McNabb said he didn't know he was 3rd string until two days before gameday. I have no idea now if that means he knew he wasn't starting Thursday and found out he was 3rd string Friday or what it means. Maybe it means I need to find better sources.
Thanks for the clarification on the second part. Tweets are hard to follow when they have no context.

Here's what Shanahan had to say about "the Danny" being upset:
DCSB wrote:"He's always been great with me, been very supportive, so if there were any comments he made, that was off the cuff to somebody else," Shanahan said. "I don't know about it. But he's always told me to do things the way that you think they should be done, and he's got the confidence in me to do it the right way, and he wants to build a football team the right way and an organization the right way. He knows there are gonna be some tough decisions, and to make the best decisions I could possibly make."
So, he was ok with the benching?
"Yeah," Shanahan said. "If he wasn't, he didn't share that with me."

OK. That leads me to believe one of two things: Either Snyder has determined he should just bite his tongue and trust Shanahan regardless of what appears to have been a massive screwup, or Snyder privately questioned Shanahan, in which case Shanahan would not come out and say that he went directly against his team owners wishes. I am actually more inclined to believe the first. Snyder may be absolutely livid but biting his tongue. I also think this will shorten Snyder's leash on Shanahan. He isn't exactly known for his patience to begin with. It should be interesting to see how much this team changes between January and September of next year.

What I make of most of Glazer's "reports" ... he's blowing smoke.

Is this a joke? Do you not remember his interviews in Philadelphia when questioned on his work ethic? The specifically questioned the way he prepared for games and he always talked about working as hard as he can. This year he let everyone know several times how hard he was working to learn the playbook, but that did not match up with what the coaches said about how quickly he is learning the playbook. McNabb has the mental capacity to learn a playbook and is a very smart man. He simply did not put the time in, or we would have had more than half the playbook installed after week 4 of the season. He also was reported to be upset (Of course did not go public with this) that the coaches were trying to change his footwork and some large mechanical flaws he has. These are actually one of the main reasons he throws so many worm-burners. He is very, very good with the media. He handles adverse situations very well when dealing with press (T.O, Philly fans, Shannahan) This is the first year he has had coaches that call him out. Anybody would be called out with his numbers when being judged on a performance basis. Between that and now reports of not practicing hard, we already know how slow he was getting the playbook, and is general indifferent demeanor to wins and losses, the coaches were furious. Being a former-pro bowler does not change how much he needs to produce to be above scrutiny.
I will wait on the second one and let you watch how little interest and the type of contracts other teams are looking at for McNabb in the future. He is a very smart man, he is not going to take that kind of deal unless he feels he has nothing else.
I am not going to even type anything for the last paragraph. That could not be any easier to understand and I have mentioned numerous events that relate to this.

So, why should I buy anything you are selling here?
