Oh great! Two straight coaches run out of their previous towns, but this time you will have the Allen/Gruden combination who Bucs fans say ruined their team. I'll take ShanAllen over GrudAllen any day.

While I'm not ecstatic about the Shanahans in DC so far, it would be absolutely idiotic to start over...again...with a new coach.

Exactly, he was "pretty good." and in order to win with only a "pretty good" QB you need very good coaching.

Or a great defense. Which is what the Bucs had.

Unless you count Brian Billick's coaching of Trent Dilfer in 2000 as very good...which it was not.

So you're saying you're done?

I never ruled out coming back to the thread - I just moved on to avoid an aneurism.

The sad thing is, it doesn't matter how utterly stupid the rumour/gossip is, I can actually believe that it COULD happen with this franchise.

Gruden is all smoke and mirrors. The only coach that should be considered in this rumor ro replace Shanny would be Bill Cowher. No other coach would be able to make improvements with the old rumps we have on this team. We don't need any more X's or O's we need young talented Jims & Joes!

Smoke and mirrors?? He won a SB with Brad Johnson at QB, and went to another one with Gannon and a roster older than ours (yes i refuse to recognize that the Pats won that "tuck rule" AFC Championship game).

Just a quick sidenote about that Raiders team.. they had one of the best defenses in those years and on offense they had a great OL and check out these names too... Justin Fargas/Charlie Garner/Tyrone Wheatley/Jerry Porter/Teyo Johnson/Doug Jolley/OJ Santiago/Tim Brown/Jerry Rice. I know some of you may not know some of them but they ALL contributed to that team.
