Conspiracy theory? Not really. How else would you explain it? Even a lack of meds does not make a LIAR out of a man. Delusional, maybe, compulsive LIAR and absent of good judgment? Hardly.

It sure does feel like it, doesn't it? Where is this coming from?

Seriously now?

This is my charade about Shanny acting completely OUT OF CHARACTER, his character by the way.

He is being EATEN alive by the printed media, TV media and the overwhelming majority of fans, and I am not talking the usual suspects of the Washington Post, I mean everybody and anybody.

This is what this mess has become about: CHARACTER.

Scary stuff if you ask me when he had the complete support of fans and a vote of confidence by the vast majority of the media. Now, he will have to do a hell of a great job to recover it.

Wait and see but the signs are rather ominous. Let us try to remain hopeful but this may be a longer season than we ever anticipated. Some of the fundamental flaws in our team have been exposed by the Rams and Lions. The blueprint is out there for all to see ...

Nope. That title is currently occupied by the Cowgals  Let them have it.

We are 4-4 and can still easily come back from this whole "shibacle." As long as MS is keeping his players together; which I have a hunch he is smart enough to do, and is currently doing just that.

JaMarcus Russell Meeting with Redskins

Posted: Tue Nov 02, 2010 2:36 pm
by jeremyroyce
Acording to Mark Berman of FOX26 in Houston, former Oakland Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell will work out Tuesday for the Washington Redskins.

Russell, the number one overall draft pick in 2007, was released by the Raiders in May. In three years as a starting quarterback in Oakland, Russell had 7-18 record.

For three months, Russell has been working with former NBA head coach John Lucas in Houston in an effort to get a second chance in the NFL.

Lucas, who had his own share of off-the-court-issues as a player, is nationally known for working with troubled athletes.

Last week, Russell had a blip on his radar erased when a Mobile County (Ala.) grand jury declined to indict him on charges of possession of a controlled substance.

The grand jury cited insufficient evidence concerning Russell's July 5 arrest for possession of codeine syrup without a valid prescription. A friend had testified in court that a drink laced wth codeine was his and not Russell's.

Freak out some more... So what if the Skins bring in a QB who has obviously got some potential, being the 1st overall pick 3 years ago. Maybe he will be awesome, will you still be upset? It's not like we are signing him and starting him against the Eagles in week 10... IF.. IFFFF.. IIIIFFFF we sign him, he won't see the field anytime this year so what difference does it make?

I realize Russell was complete crap, but so was John Beck and he is on our team..

I hate to say this, but you cannot blame this on Snyder ... so maybe some of the other indictments of him being behind foolish moves was also misplaced allegations?

To bring in Russell to work out is BEYOND mere words ... this is Twilight Zone crazy ... the very last thing that these clowns should be doing is to inject more ill will in that locker room by working out ANY QB .... let alone Russell, which would be an idiot move in any circumstance ... even if ALL three of our QBs were injured and out for the season. You'd be better off yanking Sonny out of the booth and dressing him.

I tell you what, this whole thing wreaks of a Kyle Shanahan creation, whispering in Dad's ear ... the Man-Child Coordinator wants to take a proven Veteran QB of 12 years, and change his footwork and mechanics while also learning a new offense? Some of McNabb's struggles so far are starting to become more understandable now. You can't change those ingrained core fundamentals of a player like McNabb, you take him as he comes and you run with it ... or you don't trade for him in the first place. The idea that some wet behind the ears OC who is younger than McNabb is going to "fix" his "flaws" is total idiocy, not to mention thoroughly insulting to McNabb.

An intervention is needed at Redskin Park ... SOMEBODY NEEDS TO CALL A STAFF MEETING ... Danny ... Bruce .... HELLOOOOOO?

What these two Buffoons ought to addressing is what everyone else sees, start working out some o-linemen ..... snatch Randy Moss off the waiver wire .... and send McNabb's mother some flowers for giving birth to him.

Frankly ... at this point ... the writing is on the wall .... if I were Snyder, I'd call Shanahan into my office and hand him TWO one way airplane tickets .. one going to Denver and the other to Houston.

Daddy is an egomaniac and a LIAR, and Son is just an inexperienced idiot TRYING to follow in his Dad's footprints.

First, they revamp the defense, and play hardball with Haynesworth, rather than sit down with him and assure him that he's going to benefit from playing the new scheme rather than just tell him "You will do a I say" crap ... and then proceed to poke him in the eye repeatedly, just to prove who is in charge?

Then, they take McNabb and disrespect him the way that they have by replacing him with REX GROSSMAN ??? Have either of these MORONS actually taken a peek at Sexy Rexy's career stats? They ain't very sexy. It was a questionable move to even sign him in the first place .... he's not even in the same league with McNabb .... not even remotely close.

Bringing in Russell for a "workout" is just confirmation that we can't expect sanity from the Shanahan & Son company ...

Anybody got the phone number of that Bingo guy?

I think you're missing the point ... the Redskin's don't need another QB, and certainly not Jamarcus Russell.

Shanahan just INSULTED our starting QB, and then stood there in front of God and everyone else and LIED through his teeth, insulting everyone else with half a brain. His encore performance is to bring in a guy for a workout who may be the WORST QB to play in the NFL since Kyle Shanahan was born?

This is insulting both of our QBs .... and demonstrates a level of cluelessness that makes Jim Zorn look like Vince Lombardi.

I guess MS is thinking "hey, if I'm going down I might as well do it my way". This is obviously creating tension at the QB position.

Maybe he sees something in JR after playing against him in the AFC West?

Everyone on this board needs to CHILL! Either take a toke or drink a beer. The sky is not falling as people on this board have pointed out. He's bringing a QB for a workout, A WORKOUT! He is doing his job by taking a look at whos available for this team. Jamarcus has had lethargy problems to say it lightly, true. So have other players who have turned it around after hitting rock bottom (see recently Mike Williams Seahawks WR).

If he doesn't like what he sees, he wont be added to the squad. Plain and simple. He is just taking a look. Though it may have been at a bad time everyone is blowing this out of proportion. It seems to me like the Shanny's have slept with the majority of your mothers/sister with the amount of hate being spewed and the completely baseless stories people are fabricating.

I'm prescribing a quarter pound to everyone on this board.

I think the point is Shanny is coming off looking like a complete fool because WE DON'T HAVE A QB PROBLEM, WE HAVE AN OFFENSIVE LINE PROBLEM! The O-line problem isn't going to get fixed by looking at other QBs.

I think what is happening here is overreaction by fans (me included) and media and there is more. MS is having a real hard time dealing with the press here in DC.
I can't say for sure but if I was a betting man, I would say Denver press is way easier to deal with. We aren't as bad a NY press but close. Judging by what has been said
by Dmac and others there is a communication problem as well.

Ok, so we have issues... Maybe we as fans jumped the gun some. I could be
way off here but now that I have thought about it and calmed down it seems

that even though there is confusion it might not be as bad as we think. Give it time guys. Shan is an @ss but I think he is building something here even if I do not believe he can get us to the big game. He might just get us built as
a team though by the time he is done here.

So I'm assuming your talking about Bill Cowher? Really ready to scrap this entire thing already. THIS, ladies and gentleman, is why we are perennially crap.

We have a .500 record, at halfway point and you want the coach fired?

I am not in favor of making any changes to the coaching staff OR adding players that don't fit what we need

IF the coaches think any player not presently here can help this team then I would bring that player in

I am in favor of Mike taking a close look at what has happened and learning from the mistakes he made here recently

I do think that we will end up this season with a much better outlook for our future than we had at the end of last season

I do think that there will not be anybody that is currently a starter on the offensive line (apart from Trent Williams) that will still be here in any capacity next year

Oh and by the way I agree...I would love to have him over Shanny and company. Yes that would be starting over and no it wouldn't work. I think for Cower it would take many years and no one has the time it would take. He could get it done though for sure and has.

Hopefully it's as strong as the stuff Shanahan is smoking

The problems from this situation are amplifying and Shanahan's actions are fueling this. I don't think anyone here is overreacting ... the sentiment on this board seems to be consistent with the feelings of almost a unanimous collection of fans, opinion writers, NFL experts, analysts both inside and outside Washington.

The fact that Shanahan seems loath to even consider that his decision was a poor one, while demonstrating ZERO integrity by the lame story telling that is as transparent as clear glass, suggests to me that internally, the players are going to feel the same way most of us do ... that you can't believe a word that comes out of the guy's mouth.

That's a much bigger problem than losing to the Lions.

Normally, I would agree with that ... but this situation is beginning to lose containment. And a bit of fence mending needs to happen, and that is not going to happen without a mandate from the top. So the first course of action would be to sit the Shanahan & Son team down and read them the riot act first .... something in the order of W T F are you two thinking? would be a good start. Then, I'd say, now I expect you to FIX the relationship AND the dreadful o-line performance ... you've got my checkbook ... so no excuses.

If they refuse .... hand them both their walking papers.

Now if there were better options at QB for now and the foreseeable future (next year), that would be different. But please tell me who is available that is better than McNabb? He's the guy we need to remain in place to put the most competitive product on the field, (REGARDLESS OF WHO THE COACHES ARE) while we attempt to draft a future franchise QB next year or the year after.

We cannot afford to allow ARROGANCE from a head coach or his son to sour the locker room, and disrespect the team leader that we just traded picks for.

SkinsJock wrote:I am in favor of Mike taking a close look at what has happened and learning from the mistakes he made here recently

Problem #1, he has made it abundantly clear that he doesn't make mistakes, or at least he isn't willing to own up to them. You have to admit you have a problem before you can begin to correct it.

I really am beginning to believe this is an ego driven father & son team that needs some directives issued them before their own arrogance implodes the team chemistry.

Not according to Mikey ... he thinks Cory LictenSchmuck is playing very well .... while throwing McNabb under the bus, and putting a cold Grossman in to replace him.

Let me ask you a serious question ... aside from that "swinging gate" play, tell me what decision that Jim Zorn ever made that was worse than pulling McNabb and then lying about the reason for doing it?

A panel of analysts were asked that very question, and not one of them could name an example.

Wilbon's article was titled "Dumb & Dumber" ... and frankly, you need not even read the article ... the title says it all.

In the words of my favorite comedian Ron White .... "you can't fix stupid".
