The reality is that we were horrible and all of a sudden some here are thinking playoffs

Last year we almost beat the Saints and we certainly should not have AND we lost to the Lions who we were better than, but not by much - who knows?

Any given Sunday, and all that stuff

we certainly look like we are going to be a competitive group but I just see too many issues offensively (especially on the O line and at WR) and I will be happy to see the progress and look forward to seeing some competitive games

this is an old adage here - "wait until next year"

hopefully the players and owners can get this thing fixed in time
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

This is never a good exercise IMO. It is much better to take everything one game at a time. On any given week in the NFL, anything can happen, and the worst team in the league can beat the best team. The Redskins have a chance to win every game this season. That should be the goal.

Maybe in hindsight we will look back and say it was "realistic" to expect to win only [choose your number] games. I don't might going though that process looking backwards, but I refuse to poison my hopes and expectations by doing that looking forwards!

So for now, I will go on record and say 16-0 for the regular season. And yes, I am serious. Call me crazy and say that is "unrealistic" -- but every season has plenty of unexpected surprises, some positive and some negative. Nobody knows the future, so I renounce the crystal ball.

Snout, I think we may have been seperated at birth!!!! .. I say 13-3 but I'll gladly eat these 3 coke bottle tops if we go 16-0. I won't call you crazy bro, cause I'm like you that I refuse to "realistically" go to bed at night saying to myself we'll lose 9 or 10 games. **** dat

as a matter of interest - which teams do you see us 'losing' to?

Looking at the schedule - I can say we 'could' lose to the Packers, Colts, Vikings and split with the Cowboys and Giants - that's 11-5 - that means we have to win all the other games and I just don't see this group being that good

we do play @ Rams; @Bears; @Lions; Bucaneers; & @Jaguars - by all accounts these teams are not very good and are 'projected' as the worst 5 teams in the NFL  but .....

anyway - I think that 9-7 or 8-8 is a big improvement PROVIDING these guys play with desire and intensity like we have not seen here for many years

I'll use a spread:

Worst: 7-9
Probable: 10-6
Hopeful: 12-4

It all depends on the Offense line and the run game.

And a split with Philly, NYG and Dallas.

I think the WR's will be fine, including Armstrong and Thomas. The weakness is the OL. I say 7 and 9 and don't expect more than a win or two in the division.

10-6 or 9-7, leaning towards 9-7.
I'd be ecstatic if we make the playoffs (and don't get kicked out in the first round).

This season is really hard to predict. Last years team probably should have been 7-9. The only thing good on last years squad was the defense. This season, we have the 8th toughest schedule, but we have the one of the easiest schedules for passing. We also have a much improved talent level at key positions. We are putting in a new system on offense and defense including ZBS and the 3-4. Mike Shanahan is a true leader, and will bring the best out of every player on this team. We have one of the brightest offensive minds in the league in kyle shanahan and haslett is of the same nature. I see us starting quick on offense and slow on defense(mainly against the run). I think the defense becomes pretty stingy against the run about midseason. I think we are playing our best by the time the playoffs roll around and if we can get in, we could go to the championship game. I predict we go 10-6. I'm a little doubtful that will get the wildcard, but we will be close.

Redskins Record broken down including game stats.

vs Pies - Win
Skins rushing attack is just too much for the pies. 150 plus rushing yards and 200 yards passing.
Cowgirls offensive line problems continue as they fail to keep Skins pass rush contained. Skins get 5 sacks and numerous pressures. Romo ends up throwing 2 interceptions with continuous pressure all night long. Haynesworth destroys the interior offensive line and earns his starting spot. 24-10.

Vs Houston- Win
Skins win in a tight one. Hard fought battle for sure. Mcnabb has a field day picking on the weak Houston secondary. Cooley and F. Davis both get scores on playaction plays. A solid rushing performance by Portis and Johnson. Redskins defense proves to be a sturdy group. While Andre Johnson is talented the combination of Hall and Landry prove to be too much for Johnson to overcome.
24-24

Vs Rams- Win
Skins win big. Blowout city baby. Skins gain 150 yards on the ground and Mcnabb gets 3tds 300 yards passing. Orakpo gets 2 sacks, Haynesworth 1 sack, Carter 1 sack, Landry 1 sack, Hall and Rogers both get interceptions. 42-10.

Vs Eagles- Win
Mcnabb has revenge on his mind. Star of the game Mcnabb 400 yards passing. Cooley gets 2tds, Devin Thomas also has a breakout game with 100 yards and 1 td. Portis and Johnson chip in for 100 yards on the ground. Young Kolb gets a taste of Orakpos helmet. Haynesworth proves why he is the 100 million dollar man. The unstoppable force.
35-7

Vs Packers-Win
Home field advantage makes all the difference in this barn burner. Aaron Rodgers is a star and makes a bid at MVP. The old battle tested Vet Mcnabb turns in a solid performance. But the Skins rushing attack is what wins this game for the Skins.
200 yards rushing for the Skins. Also the offensive line problems for the Pack also fails to keep the blood hounds skins pass rush at bay.

35-28

Vs Colts-Win

In a shocker! Skins win!
The Redskins have become the juggernaut in the NFL. Armed with the no. 1 rushing attack in the league. The no.3 passing attack and the no. 3 defense in the league. Skins defense leads the league in sacks and interceptions.
Skins stick to a time consuming rushing attack. Colts small but fast defense just get mowed over. Peyton Manning is not on the field much. Time of Possession is 3 to 1 in favor of the Skins. Colts defense proves to be the weakness.
In a Shocker Skins win big. 28-10

Vs Bears-win

Skins are on a roll. The talk of the NFL. 42-28
Cutler does all he can but his offensive line is still weak. Redskins pass rush abuse Cutler forcing him into turnovers. Mcnabb passes for 350 yards.

Vs Lions-win

Mcnabb goes for 300 yards and 3 tds. 100 yards rushing for Portis and Johnson. Reskins pass rush once again wreaks havoc on a young QB in Stafford. 38-17

Vs Eagles-win

Another Spanking at the hands of the Skins. Landry knocks out Jackson with a vicious hit. Skins ruhing attack abuses Iggles all day long. Mcnabb even runs one in for a score. 42-0

Vs Titans-loss

Finally the Skins lose a game. The Skins start to believe the hype. ESPN has been raving about the Skins now SuperBowl favorites. The Skins start drinking the kool aid. Haynesworth is out for the week on stomach flu. Chris Johnson goes off for a 200 yard performance. Vince Young also runs in a couple Tds.
28-7

Vs Vikings-loss

Skins lose in a tight one. Haynesworth is still out with sickness. Adrian Peterson and young rookie have a good rushing performance. Suddenly the league has found a chink in the armor. Haynesworth out redskins rush defense suspect. Mcnabb has a good day but Vikings stout run defense halts progress for now.
25-10

Vs Giants-Win

Revenge for the swinging gate affair. A day of infamy is remembered. Skins serve up a buffet of whoop ass. Haynesworth returns from sickness and shores up the skins rush defense. Eli gets sacked 6 times. Mcnabb goes off for 300 yards and 3 tds.

32-11

Vs Bucs-Win

Blowout! 56-12 nuff said.

Vs Cowpies-Win

Skins pound the rock all day long. 200 yards rushing right at Demarcus Ware. Portis and Johnson get 100 yards each. Six sacks for the Skins. Romo is sent to the hosipital in the second quarter after Landry delievers a vicious blow to the Pies QB.

35-9

Vs Jaguars-loss

Haynesworth rests a sore ankle. Once again the Skins rush defense suffers with Haynesworths absence. Jones Drew pounds the rock all day.

21-14

Vs Giants-Win

The league is surprised. But, most people in the NFC should know better. Mcnabb knows the NFC East well and has dominated this division for most of his career. The Skins sweep the division earning a bye in the first round. Not much of a contest here.
Haynesworth returns from a week off. Mcnabb goes for 400 yards, Portis and Johnson chip in for 150 yards. The Skins end the regular season as SuperBowl favorites.

After looking over all the games. 13-3 is my new prediction. 1st round bye in the playoffs.
Sean Taylor starting free safety Heavens team!

Just to show what an out of touch douche he is, Peter King predicts the NFC East to finish with these records:

G-strings 11-5
Cowpies 10-6 wildcard
Smeagols 10-6
Redskins 6-10

EVERY time I watch a Redskins game, I hope we can find a way to win - the reality is, we are not going to be able to do that

I can't look at a season and say, "well we should beat these teams" and "we might beat these teams" - and "we shouldn't beat these teams" MAINLY because each week a lot of factors affect the game and the results are not always easy to predict

The Colts are a better team than the Texans IMO

The stupid pukes and the Vikings should not be at 0-2 any more than the Chiefs and Bucaneers should be 2-0

"any given Sunday"

I think we'll win 8 or 9 games because that is a huge upgrade from what we had here last year - we may lose games we should win but we will win games against "better" teams

it's just the way the NFL is - try and pick the winners each week and see how wrong your opinion is, especially where the overwhelming favourite is concerned - you will be V surprised - I remember when Miami went into Chicago, late in the year, and beat an incredibly good Bears defense - it may have looked close but it wasn't and the Dolphins were huge underdogs - any given Sunday

sit back & enjoy the "new" Redskins - I think they will have a very good year - the future looks really good with these 2 guys running things and that idiotic owner of ours supporting them
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
