They're also holding Rex out of the Arizona game because of McNabb's ankle so I'm thinking that whoever has the better game stays as the #3 qb, at least until McNabb is back healthy.
I agree we'll have a third QB on the roster if McNabb's not ready to go. We're probably going to be looking at everyone available though, it may or may not be someone on the roster. But if neither of our 2 QB's are playing this week it's a great chance for one of them to step up.
Week one and we're holding our breath that Grossman doesn't get injured. Not how we wanted to start the Shanahan era.
In what I have seen this pre-season, neither Beck nor Bartel have shown anything of worth. I was interested to see what Beck could do when we picked him up, but he has not developed a solid throwing motion since coming into the league and doesn't have adequate arm strength. Too bad. And in terms of Bartel, I would rather take a chance on someone else with more of a ceiling.
It is paramount that we keep 3 QBs. McNabb has been having injury issues and, with his age, I don't see this going away real soon. Grossman has looked decent, but again, it is the preseason....
I think that we can keep 2 QB's b/c if McNabb is hurt, there are enough guys on the street that can come in and play. See Jeff Garcia who's shown to be durable and a proven winner as well. Just small.

From your keyboard to God's monitor. I truly hope he is that stupid.

McNabb IS injured. We can't go into a game with only 2 QB's active.
The 3rd stringer needs some familiarity with the offense.

Good chance that a better QB is cut from another team, For example, the Bears just cut Matt Gutierrez and they still have four QB's. They'll likely cut either Caleb Hanie or Dan LaFevour. There will be plenty of others to choose from.
I tell ya someone else who has really struggled, especially run blocking is Rabach. He was getting beaten off the ball. I saw a handful of plays where a DL made a tackle at the LOS or deeper with Rabach a step behind trying to catch up.

That is, they are going to cut Hanie (if they don't cut collins). If they cut LaFevour, I would kill to pick him up. Honestly though, I wouldn't be too surprised if they cut Collins -- although they did give him a guaranteed contract....
If Chicago was stupid enough to cut LaFevour, there would be a number of teams after him. In the event CHI places him on the practice squad, I would snatch him up. We already have 2 veteran QBs, it would be nice to pick up a young QB with some talent.
