that was pretty lame, bodes well for the u.s., they might need that draw. England probably won't need it.

I would like to thank UK Skins Fan for his country's second gift to the US this World Cup final.
RiC's team came back strong, though.

I really can't be bothered with the World Cup right now. In that respect, I'm taking my lead from the England team. When I was born, England were world champions. In the forty plus years since then, I really don't recall such a shocking performance as I witnessed against Algeria last night. It was so bad, I can't even get angry about it - I'm just utterly demoralised, and numb.
But hey, we can still win the cup...lol.

Yes, they can and the best matches among all teams still await us.
Why are you shocked??? Algeria is a hell of a good team. Their defeat against Slovenia was a fluke! They dominated most of that game. They just got a bad break.
This World Cup is very exciting because I do not remember a more EVEN tournament ever. ANYBODY can win it (almost anyway).

My team and the WHOLE of this continent is doing GREAT.
Almost EVERY team from this continent might make the next round. Honduras might be the exception but I know that they are capable of much better than what they got so far.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that point. Algeria are an average team. The fact that they looked at least as good as England suggests that England is an average, or below average team.
Then again, it isn't just England who are struggling - Italy's result against New Zealand today may be even more shocking (although I didn't see the game, so I can't judge the performance). Germany and Spain have had their troubles, but they've both played well enough to be more confident of further progress.

Did anyone else catch the 7-0 takedown of North Korea today?
Of course, the poor Koreans will probably be told that their brave boys fought to a 0-0 tie.

Gotta like Brazil. They have shown the killer instinct from early on and always seem to get better, relative to their competition, as the tournament progresses. Personally, I like Spain's style of play, but I don't see them overcoming another blah game.
Two days from now, though, the US gets their chance to exact some revenge on Ghana.

I have not forgotten '06!

I'm watching the Uruguay game now, and they look strong. I hadn't noticed them so much in the other game I caught (vs. France).
They made a really big deal about how Slovenia was the smallest nation in the tournament (at about 2 million people), but Uruguay isn't much bigger and they look very impressive.

I'm just posting something here to prove that I don't hide when my team stinks the place out. OK, the "goal" that never was was an utter disgrace, but that just robbed England of a 4-2 defeat. Congratulations to Germany for being able to walk through an open door when they see one.
