I agree that you may well be right. But why be Debby downer already? We still have months until their first regular season starts. Why not just hold your tongue and wait? Why start complaining before they've even had a chance to do anything?

Actually, Vet, I'm annoyed by undue optimistism. Too much kool-aid in the past, I guess. We ballyhooed Spurrier, Gibbs, and even Zorn, if you remember. Come to think of it, we once ballyhooed Campbell. I see the touch of Danny everywhere. He always finds something to sell. Usually, its has-been flashes. Now, it's yet another flashy coach and the son of a great coach as GM. Doesn't work for me. Also, I hate nepotism and rep. by Daddy. There are two extreme examples of it currently on hand: Bruce and Kyle. Neither have proven much. There's no logical reason to believe that either can carry his weight.

By the way, Snyder behaved unethically in regard to the Four Flags debacle. Tried to have competing parking lots shut down so he could charge $30 per slot and gouge FF customers. Sound familiar. The guy is a greedy jerk. My theory is that Shanny and Co are merely this year's attraction so he doesn't need to pay for players. Judge for yourself how well it's working and then tell me that Danny is above such things.

Bruce Allen was key in resolving a salary cap disaster in TB, while managing to help field competitive teams... winning two NFC South titles.

Kyle Shanahan ran the most potent offense in the league last year... all without daddy's help. It would be the greater sin to pass on one of the great offensive minds, just because Daddy would be his boss...

Neither are reliant on their father's name for their reputations (which, despite aspersions, are solid in the NFL)

Allen's shortcomings as a personnel guy are known throughout the league. Kyle has exactly one year experience as an offensive coordinator and had the great good luck to inherit Matt Schaub, who was already putting up big numbers before Kyle arrived. Also, in Houston, Kyle was hired by a friend of his daddy's, a trend that runs like a vein of ore through his bio. Whether or not he has a great offensive mind is yet to be proven.

I'm not allergic... but will admit, that with an adequate amount of Dos Equis aboard, I can handle one or two fuzzies... whether warm or just kind of cool...
