He's "not that good" by whose standards? Yours? Ok. Top 10 pick at 20 years old, who has made 2 Pro Bowls already, and is still just 26. Yeah, he sucks to high heaven.

Yes, he was a top 10 pick, but he has not played like a top 10 pick consistently. Being only 26 and on his 3rd team also says something about him. And also way to take my comments out of context. I didn't say that he is a bad player, I'm saying that he isn't good enough to be talking trash and making stupid predictions.

You're entitled to your own opinion. But, I regret to inform you that you have absolutely no authority to decide which players are good enough to talk trash and make "stupid predictions."

But, if your privileges to that effect are ever reinstated, please take note that if anyone is in a position to talk trash and make stupid predictions, it would be a Pro Bowl player in the NFL before it would be you.

Well, you got me with the Hokies on that one, so I'll switch to one of my other Alma Maters, Michigan and go with:

baseball - 2
basketball - 1
hockey - 9

oh, and football - 11

Your five are a quaint start...

We'll dominate our division, off of bringing Donovan McNabb in here, a guy who's dominated the division in the past

guess its not just the fans who believe that McNabb is a major upgrade at QB

We haven't had confidence in 10 years. Let the man speak his mind. It's refreshing to hear it. I don't get it, but what do I know. A winning attitude is infectious

I don't want to see some BS off-season talk...I wanna see it game 1 vs Dallas. Don't talk about it, be about it! Last off-season, Hall had a few segments about how he was doin this and that and he was gonna get it done...only to get juked/stiff-armed by a QB.

In the off-season, I'd rather see what the players do for their community Like Nnamdi As (radiers CB) piece on NFLN this week. After listening to him this week, I have a great respect for this guy.
...any given Sunday....

RIP #21 Sean Taylor. You will be loved and adored by Redskins fans forever!!!!!

This is one of the most heated threads I have seen on this board in a very long time......

With that said, I don't think that he was supposed to say anything. He wasn't forced to say a word. It was his choice to run his mouth. He should have just kept quiet and let his play do the talking.

Regardless, have you seen the schedule this year???? We aren't playing 5 straight 0-for teams this year like we did last year. Outside of STL and DET (who we lost to last year) there are no easy win teams on our schedule. We had arguably 6 EASY wins on our schedule last year (of which we lost 3). Our schedule is SUBSTANTIALLY more difficult this year. It's not as easy as saying that since we lost a bunch of close games last year and have upgraded that we are instantly going to win more games because of that simple fact. The statement was premature.

I just like the days where players did their talking on the field. Those type of teams are the ones that usually end up winning SBs.

RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

OK, but September is a long way away. What's he supposed to do until then, just shut up? I guess you could take that line, but I don't see why it's a big deal to get a little excited and show some emotion in April. We all want to see the 'Skins show up ready for the season.

Agreed, but it's not like doing charity work and commenting about next season are mutually exclusive. Are we really supposed to think Hall can't get to the soup kitchen because everyone keeps asking him whether the Redskins will dominate the division next year? :|

Exactly. Michael Irvin, Jeremy Shockey, Clinton Portis, Kellen Winslow, Warren Sapp, Ray Lewis have set the standard for humility and silence for their alma mater. Anything below that standard is offensive to all things Miami bred.

I thought I already explained myself about why specifically HALL should concentrate more on his game than his trash talk. I put the part BACK IN that provided my angle about Hall specifically.

I purposely separated the two ideas. They weren't joined together intentionally. I never said, instead of Hall talkin about dominating the NFCE, he should be in a soup kitchen. I figured you, of all people, could appreciate the attempt at written English format using paragraphs separating individual thoughts and I apologize for that assumption...

HOPEFULLY we are going to see a lot of changes around here and I have a feeling that some of these players are really looking forward to having the chance to be a part of a team and are probably fired up about that - that has not been the case for quite a while and I think that some of these players are just voicing their opinions - hey! it's the offseason - NO BIG DEAL - some of these guys are just pretty fired up about being able to play some football for some coaches that will put them in position to take advantage of their talents - My 2 cents.

we are not getting into the playoffs but I would be very surprised if any of the players here do not really think that things will be a whole lot different AND BETTER than they were the last few years here :D
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Difference is they won, which Hall has never done (has he even played in a playoff game?). We were 4-12 last year and shouldn't be talking any trash until we climb out of the seller in the NFC East. Like I said above, win some games, then talk all you want.

They talked before they "won" and "after"...some people just talk a lot...some don't. It's not your call to tell them when they should or shouldn't.

I disagree with your assessment of Hall. He's one of our contributors. I could understand lashback from the fans if it was Landry or Rogers talking, but honestly Hall has been our best DB in the last two years. Getting stiff-armed by a QB one time doesn't equate to a moratorium on talking to reporters, IMO.

People are throwing out lots of things here like Hall can't make an offseason comment and still come in and perform. That's why I keep saying: yeah, we ALL want Hall to come in and let his play do some talking. But I'm just one of the fans who doesn't see the harm in a little offseason confidence and excitement.

There's a difference between having optimism and saying something that is completely ridiculous based on the facts.
