There's ways of bringing up a topic without it coming off as demeaning and offending someone.

I agree. But in this case they are in the entertainment business. Obviously their image is an issue, I think as long as you're direct it'd be pretty hard to not have the question be reasonable.

So this person, let's not forget that these are people too...

This person isn't worth the extra 8 words, the extra minute it'd take to pose the question in a respectful manner? Or in a more constructive manner? Nobody is asking teams to risk their millions on a bad seed but that doesn't give you the right to be blatantly disrespectful. I'm sorry, it doesn't.

The moment a player says anything that isn't "HTTR" you want the kid burned at the stake but we'll come up with excuses for management. It's the same thing when it comes to money. It's a double standard. Both sides have their issues.

Being "direct" is "blatantly disrespectful?" You must be fun at parties.

So, instead of saying "does your mom still sell drugs?" "Is your mom still a prostitute?" How do you warm up to that info?

"So, your mom, she seems nice? Bet she's fun at parties?"

Seriously, when you have a delicate issue, direct is the best way to be. You can cause more offense beating around the bush.

You could preface the questions with an explanation of why you feel you have to ask them.

Do we know that they didn't? I haven't seen the context of the previous questions, just the "offensive" ones.

Well, the guy is publicly apologizing, and Dez made it public, both of which make me think he didn't. But I could be wrong.
