If Yoder doesn't sign elsewhere then that may be a good sign that he isn't that valuable. I disagree that we shouldn't try and trade Cooley. Davis filled in well and Cooley is one of the few people that has trade value. If we can pick up a stud O-linemen or draft picks I don't see why we don't make the move. We can't hold onto players for sentimental reasons. It's more about the team than any specific player.

This may sound bad, but how many jerseys does Cooley sell? There is no way they get rid of Cooley -- especially with a guy like Dan owning the team. Davis has definite trade value. He is coming off a very good year and he is extremely young. You could get just as much for both -- but then again, they are TEs -- they have little to no trade value.

This pickup, as long as Yoder stays around, doesn't make sense to me. I hope we aren't planning on carrying 4 TEs. That makes no sense.

Moving swiftly on from all this conversation about Cooley and trades.......

........is Ryan going to be on the depth chart when next season starts?

what's the problem Trevor?

apart from the fact that it's off topic - I thought the part about a player's value being tied to jersey sales was particularly enlightening

And holding on to Cooley isnt for sentimental reasons, its for holding onto one of the only consistent players on this team. And having Cooley on this "team" only makes the team better.

We are still a poor offense with or without him. We might as well take a chance to get better, then stay in the same ole place we've been. Offense actually got better without him last year, because Davis speed stretches the linebackers more. If we can get a 2nd or 3rd for him I would do it. Cooley has already peaked.

"we are still a poor offense with or without him" I dont think that it was our TE that made us a "poor" offense. prob. more towards our OL.

"Our Offense got better without Cooley????" "Davis speed stretches the LB more???"

Are you saying that Davis is better than Cooley? and our team is better without Cooley?

What a statement!!! Yeah lets give up someone proven for a hope that Davis stays good or at least wakes up in time for practice.

Either way like people have been saying we are keeping both. Its just competition for Yodder IF they decide to bring him back off of UFA.

He will probably competer with Yoder (if Yoder resigns).
