Outside of the Redskins, Mason couldn't really find a job in the NFL. So I think that just goes to show you waht we fans think we know about football and talent evaluation. No team wanted the guy and he could only make a PS.

Funny, right after I made the "breathe of fresh air" comment I read this quote from Rabach:
"Bruce Allen has just been a breath of fresh air for the organization," Rabach said. "He doest things so much differently than we've been used to seeing around here. With both of them [Allen and Shanahan], you just have a real feeling of confidence about the direction we're headed.""

Collins and Brennan were both cut? Seems even more likely that the Redskins will draft a QB at #4 now.

I think the Redskins will take their chances on O-linemen in free agency since they generally come cheaper than most other positions. Whatever they can't get in the market they'll look for in the draft.

"Ricky Vaughn? Willie "Mays" Hayes? Who are these F*n' guys?"

I haven't seen anywhere saying Colt was cut.

Yea, I think jsut Collins. Although that cut pretty much guarantees that a qb is getting drafted at some in the early rounds.

To me, Griff cut seems to be a mistake ... given that he would likely be the next best choice at nose, and given Haynesworth's inability to play every down, I just don't see the logic here.

I just hope we don't wind up with Denver's offense AND defense ... I was kinda hoping for just the offense.

Griff isn't physical enough (at this point) or durable enough to handle being a NT.

Others commented we hadn't heard about Brennan, but he was irrelevant anyway. Why would this mean we would draft a QB at #4 though? I'm not arguing it means we won't, but why would it mean we would? I just don't understand the logic.

It would be good if we could work out Clifton to anchor the line. With Dockery and Rabach then we just need in the sort term to work on the right side of the line and we can use FA and draft to do that w/o being dependent on the #4 pick for an OL. Yes, that could indicate QB, but it could indicate D too since we are likely to get at least one of Suh, McCoy or Berry as an option.
