More than anything, this is the season to clean the slate. Get those big contracts off the books. You're going to have to play CP anyways but you've got a locker room cancer and injury prone RB on your roster. Take the hit and get younger/cheaper/more reliable.
Maybe under Shanahans he's going to cooperate. Stranger things have happened. Look at FA this year

I'll miss Rock Cartwright. he played with a ton of heart and had one of the coolest football names out there. "Rock Cartwright"...sounds like someone on the Flintstone's football team.
FINALLY ARE is gone! Hallelujah!

I agree - just like Shanahan and Allen have an 'agreement' with Snyder I think Shanahan and Allen have checked things out pretty thoroughly here and the players that they think might be able to help have been 'contacted', the 'plan' has been presented and nobody is going to be under any illusion about what the franchise expects going forward from both the players and who is running things here now

Snyder is running things and always will be. It's not about who it's about "how." In the end, he is the final say. He writes the checks. He needs to learn to manage better. His not managing is not and never should even be considered as an option.

I don't think that we would have Allen or Shanahan here if they did not feel that they would be making the 'footbal' decisions here - I think that Snyder is 'involved' but he is not 'managing' this franchise as far as which players we go after, keep OR let go - same applies to the coaches - these decisions are now made by Allen and Shanahan - with Snyder's support
Snyder is not 'managing' this franchise at this time - he's the owner and he's still stupid

One thing you and Snyder have in common is you don't understand what management means. He thinks it's micromanaging the decisions of his staff and you think it's giving up complete control. It's neither. It's empowering and trusting your staff, but being involved and having the final say. What you advocate would be in no way more effective then what he does. I have over 2 decades management experience and right now own and run two businesses and have been looking to buy more.
Do you know that the longer I manage, the less often I "tell" my staff what to do and yet the more say I have over the decisions we make? I learn, teach, mentor, explain and work with them. I also listen to them and incorporate what they say in my own vision. Management does not mean control, and yet it does. A manager's job is to create an effective team and a productive environment. If your staff do not feel empowered they won't work hard. But if they don't have boundaries they won't work effectively or together. Management is creating and maintaining that environment.

2/2 on this one. I'm not arguing Snyder is an effective manager, I've argued strongly he's not. I'm just saying your repeating the point he doesn't make the football decisions is just flat out wrong. Sorry. But believe what you want. It's how he makes them, not whether he makes them. And he obviously sucks at it. But what you're advocating is in no way better then what he does.
Even if Allen and Shannahan made every tactical decision on every cut we made, Snyder had the final say. It wouldn't have happened without his OK whether he made player by player approvals or by his creating the process for the cuts. It could be no other way.
