As long as Danny has any part of the decision making process, I am not blindly following.
If it can be shown that Shanny and Allen are behind the decisions, with no input from Danny, then we may have something. But for me to come to that conclusion, it is a wait and see.
How would you ever know?

I agree that it would be difficult to know for certain, but what I mean is that the typical mistakes this franchise has done over the course of close to a decade ends: such as major FA moves that make no sense, throwing money at people/overpaying people, actually building a team from the ground up and not understanding the concept, trading picks, etc. Danny will continue to make those mistakes because he doesn't understand the concept of the "ultimate team game", but real football guys know better.
Personally, I think that it will be fairly clear after a couple seasons who really is in charge. Essentially, the less we hear and see of Danny -- and the more frustrated he becomes with Shanny and Allen (sort of in the same way he was with Marty - without getting fired) -- the better.
Well, if he gets frustrated with Shanahan and Allen, then he WILL fire them. I am hopeful that this really is the change that we've been desperate for, but don't be in any doubt about it: Snyder expects positive results quickly, and won't be slow in changing things again if he doesn't see them.
In plenty of ways, that makes him no different to most of the Redskins fan base - I have little doubt that the whining will start just as soon as the draft is over, as fans complain that they didn't draft 5 offensive lineman, or didn't draft a QB etc etc.
For me, it's wait and see. I just hope that Snyder allows enough waiting time.

And who makes those determinations that they're sound or not? I mean, if Shanahan decides to pick a quarterback in the draft 4th overall, will you think it's because Danny had influence because you disagree with QB 4th? What happens if Shanahan decides to trade a pick for a restricted free agent? Is that also Danny's influence in your opinion?
And overpaying for free agents...well who makes that determination that someone was overpaid? Someone could say Haynesworth was overpaid, but as Tampa was willing to pay him the same or more (depending on the story you read), is that really overpayment? Who says that person is overpaid or not?
I mean in every case, whether it was true or not, someone who disagrees with the decision could claim Danny was behind it. And we'd never know if that's true or not. Or, should we just leave that determination in your hands? Markshark84 the final arbiter?
