No, I understand what he's saying. To be a rival, you have to be considered competitive with that team. The only teams the Redskins are competing with are the Rams, Chiefs, Lions, Bills, Raiders, and Browns, for the worst team in the NFL.

Those are our real rivals right now.
I think he was saying, "There the only team I know how to beat more than once and until they beat me they can't be considered a rival... Now if I was just still calling the plays."

Man, you NAILED it.
A good GM or owner would have shot these rumors down immediately. Instead they let it fester and let things get out of control.

No because that is the only team he has never lost to and had beaten more than once. You can't be a rival if you always beat that team.
Just, kidding! He should be fired just for that statement.
Oh, wait Vinny said he was safe the rest of the year, well I guess he is good!
Funny, I thought he should've been fired by the "burgundy and black" comment at his first press conference.

Wanna bet ???
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!
If Danny made a change, he's making a change 'cause he can. Not because it makes sense. This year is unsalvageable...you can take that to the bank. Firing Zorn accomplishes nothing except feeds the skeptics calling him an impetuous owner who throws tantrums when things don't go his way. Obviously, this isn't far from the truth, but you made the hire stand by him for at least 2 years.
But then again, nothing make sense with this franchise anymore. But, in all of the bad years I can remember in DC, I can't remember anything like this where fans have grown from being mad to just plain apathetic.
You watch, I bet there is an even bigger Eagles showing on Monday night than you have ever seen at FedEx. I sit next to a lady at work in DC who asked what seats my tickets were in because her entire section was coming down from Philly (she's obviously an Eagles season ticket holder). This may be worse than the Steelers game last year.
